No hassles. It works exactly as I expected
Sometimes I even use it in my Macbook pro where in theory it shouldn't be necessary as there's already a standard 4-pole input. Skype on Mac is not always able to automatically pick the right sound device particularly if there's another app already open demanding sound device access like FaceTime. I just need to plug NRG and Skype switches over it immediately. Crystal clear sound both ways based on feedback received. Same behavior in Linux and Windows. I'm glad to be able to use my phone EarPods with any computer irrespective of OS in any situation seamlessly.

Mic doesn't work with Apple EARPODS
Four stars because: This device works as described for most TRRS headsets. Also, Headset Buddy's customer service was very helpful and accommodating.Minus 1 star because: This device does not work with Apple Earpods, even though it says that it does. The signalling for the microphone is on the Apple Earpods is different than most TRRS headsets; the only input sound I heard after testing two of theses devices and two different computers was loud, constant beeping. They do, however, work with Apple Earphones (the older, more classic-looking earbuds). Also, the blue blinking light never stops blinking and there is no way to turn it off.

No tech support, will not work with IPHONE 6S Headset
Despite what it says - this product will not work with IPHONE 6S headset. I tried it on 3 separate computers. In the event that it was a configuration problem on my part, I contacted the HEADSET Buddy tech support - which mean submitting a support request. The response was a generic auto-referral to their FAQ page which did not answer the question I submitted.

Mic doesn't work with Apple EARPODS
I bought them to use with my Apple Earbuds, but the mic never works, I just heard a constant kind of feedback and the microphone never works. In the rear of the box you can read "For use with Apple Earpods or other VoIP/Skype headsets". Well...not really. They said the problem is that Apple changed the pinout of their Earpods...I don't know if it is true...They were responsible and gave me my money back, that's why I gave them 2 stars (otherwise I give only 1).

Perfect functionality, but removed 2 stars for annoying flashing light.
Functionally, this adapter is amazing. Crystal clear sound, and super convenient plug and play. However, there is a massive caveat that I'm surprised no one has pointed out so far. This thing has an annoying extremely bright blue light that constantly flashes any time any audio is going through the adapter. So if you sit down to watch a movie, you will have a blue light flashing in your face nonstop for the next 2 hours. Fortunately, the blue diode is positioned conveniently enough that I was able to take my Ka-Bar to the unit, slice off the plastic dome on the opposite side from the jack adapter, and pry the blue diode off the chip board without messing anything up. However, if you don't want to have to modify this unit, then steer clear, as the flashing light will annoy you to death.

Excellent quality product
I work remotely and have regular meetings via internet meeting services. I would call in to the meetings using my iPhone. The remote phone connect feature of these meetings typically provide lower quality voice quality.I was going to buy an expensive VOIP headsets but found the NRG product for a fraction of the price. I plugged the adapter into my Windows 7 laptop and it found the driver automatically. I called into WebEx and turned on the VOIP option. The voice quality is crystal clear. The Windows voice controls for mic volume, headphone volume and mic feedback work perfectly. This is one of those products that is a must have if you attend web meetings. The only thing I would like added is the ability to use the iPhone ear bud volume controls. Not necessary though because the Windows controls work fine.

Worth the $20. Would love to get my hands on a v2.0.
The first time I plugged this in to my MacBook Pro to test it out, the audio output sounded fine, but the input was garbled by some loud noise I would describe for lack of better words as "digital distortion". Considering that I bought it specifically to use the microphone on my Apple EarPods, I was ready to be disappointed. However, after disconnecting and reconnecting everything, the issue hasn't come back.I've used this on a MacBook Pro running OSX, and a PC running Windows 10. Neither required installing drivers. Both have very good audio quality. (To my admittedly non-audiophile ears.)Pros:* Tiny/compact design* No driver installation* OSX and Windows* Great audio qualityCons:* The OS doesn't seem to know if the headphones are plugged in, so it can't auto-switch back to your regular speakers when you unplug them like built-in mic ports can do. (Maybe this is a limitation* Odd shape: While the connector is overall very small, its odd shape means it won't always fit where you want it. In particular, I wanted to plug it into one of the USB ports on my keyboard, which would've been super handy to be able to plug my headphones into. But because those cylinders bulge out the wrong way, it won't fit.* Blue lights: When you plug it in, the white plastic lights up from the inside with a blue light. And when in use, that blue light blinks. Since there were no drivers to install, I don't think there's an option to disable them. Having a blue blinking thing constantly in your vision can be annoying.* Too loud? I use this mostly on Windows 10, and I have to turn the volume down to 2-4% for a comfortable listening level. There's not a lot of room there between "comfortable" and "muted". I'd hate to accidentally have these in my ears while something loud played at 100%.
