Lovely Book
Excellent. The illustrated Mahabaratha retells and explains stories from all the eighteen chapters of Mahabaratha brieflyand also narrates Harivamsha. Selected slokas from Bghavad Gita have been transalated. Photographs and illustrationstaken from different sources are of great value. Some blowup photographs of modern culture does not go well with the book.Every Hindu must find a place for this book in his Book Shelf. Must read book. The author and the publisher have done a great job worth praising.Dr.Padmanabhan

Good book for beginners
Nice crisp summary for beginners .. Divided through 18 chapters, the relationship diagrams and point wise summary is especially good for understanding the complex relationships and events of the Mahabharata.. Good for introducing people to the epic .. if you are looking for detailed description then this book is not for you.

The book is amazing.
The book don't just concentrate on telling the story. It gives analysis, backdrops, it explains particular situations with respect our culture, it gives prominence of the places that comes in the story, sometimes compare the characters with other countries' mythological characters, etc. Finally, it's not just Mahabharata. It's The Illustrated Mahabharata.
