Progressive Repertoire for the Double Bass, Vol. 3 (German Edition)

The product is not an original. The original was probably scanned and reprinted as this product. Although normally that is not a problem, it is when you can get an original for the same price. The pressing issues are that the cover is red, not green like the original, the pictures are too dark to be discernible, and the sometimes blurry print irritates the musician's eyes. Also, the back cover was bent when i received it.The product itself as the other reviewers have stated is amazing. It lends the musician a new perspective on interpretation and technique for the double bass. However, if one can get a better copy of the product at the same price somewhere else, it makes no sense to buy it here. I'm sorry, but that's how i feel.Good job though on getting it to the costumer on time(and even quicker than the time predicted it would take, i believe).

This is probably the best of the three volumes in this series. It has a decent selection of bass solos written for students using Vance's method, and the CD with accompaniment is a great bonus. Not for everyone, but recommended anyway. Hard to pass up at Amazon's price.

This series of studies is for serious students and instructors.

I bought this book because it contains some of the works on our state contest list and I was pleased that it contained a CD of most of the pieces. Other books I have purchased with CDs have had the balance arranged so that the bass part could be "tuned out" to have only the accompaniment. This one does not. I would have much rather purchased just the book. For me, the CD is worthless.

It is so hard to find String Bass Repertory. Thanks for this! It is well written and edited. We need more like it.

I have taught bass privately for many years. This is a great solo reference for the intermediate to advanced player. Easy to read, excellent fingering and bowing suggestions. I would recommend purchasing the piano accompaniment book that goes along with it. The books covers alot of musical and technical ground and most all of the pieces are truly quality literature. The CD that is provided can be a usefultool.
