Works well but you have to put some effort in
Don't think this will just need a tap and the log will split you need to use a lump hammer and give it some 'wellie'. I am not saying that is an issue but you will burn some calories. This said I like it, glad I got it and it is sturdy and does what it says it will do - it splits logs - so am happy with it and think it is a far price.

It actually worked well!!
After 10 minutes trying to chop through a large log (20" wide x 10" thick, green hardwood) with my wood axe, and not getting anywhere, I thought I would try one of these.I sunk it in the centre with the hammer end of the axe and although it took a bit of bashing and at one point I thought I was going to lose the thing in the wood, it cracked the log. Amazing, give it a good bashing and it works.

The media could not be loaded. Only just got this and before use there are some imperfections that could possibly indicate some structural weaknesses when being used!!Don’t get me wrong I have not used this yet, the weight is is 1.553 kg so it’s just over the stated weight so that’s a positive and will help when splitting the wood.I will feed back more when I use this item and post images of the wood it will be used onPlease note my rating is only based on images provided at this time.Product update 7/3/20Like I said here is the review on how it works on wood.I will be splitting oak (hard wood) that was felled on 14/1/20 (7 weeks old) in the video the wood has been split first to dry out to a moisturiser % of 20% for the last 7 weeks.I will be using the log bomb with a sledgehammer (3.406kg) to split the wood.This has worked well on pre split wood but as you see in the images I have uploaded I have some full logs that need to be split.That will be another update but sadly I can not video that as amazon only allow one video per review!I have change my rating to 4 stars based on the information to date.

Very good
Make sure you put something under your log for protection as it cuts through very quickly and could damage your deck or slabs

A nice piece of kit
A nice piece of kit, handy for relatively easily splitting logs for our wood burning stove.
