I wish I had believed the many reviewers who said this is a good headband, but much too small for an adult. It probably fits kids and people with small skulls, but for a normal sized person it is painfully tight. Maybe if I stretch it out over a bowl or something, as one reviewer mentioned, it might be wearable after a while. As it is it is not really usable for me. As for being shock absorbing, I don't know how much protection it could provide with head injuries. Its benefit is probably overstated. It does seem to be a perfectly good sweatband - for a child. I wish they made one for adults.

Good product
Very good product but a little tight even for my 10yr old daughter. I think overall it provides a sense of protection for the person using item.

Misleading advertising and provides very limited protection at best!
Provides virtually no protection.I compared this to the Nike headband after purchase. This headband claims to provide protection with advertised "Test" results. The Nike headband makes no such claim. Once I inspected both I found that they are virtually the same item. The logo is the only difference.If you are looking for a head band to protect you this is not it!

This is a thick sturdy headband. It is not like your average headband. The material and thread is of premium quality. It fits rather tight, so I put it around a bowl for weeks trying to loosen it up. But no, it will not stretch out, it is made so well I don’t think you will ever need another headband. Depending on how big your head is, it may or may not be uncomfortable for you to wear.

The head band had minimal padding. The headband was too small for my head. It would probably fit a child. I shared it with several of my adult ice skating friends and it was too tight on all of them.

I originally got this to keep my boys' hair out ...
I originally got this to keep my boys' hair out of their eyes and have a little added protection. My oldest got a concussion the very first day he wore this while playing soccer. His head bounced off the ground two different times resulting in a concussion. Maybe it would protect more during accidental head to head bumps. But did not help us in the head protection area. I would not get this for any actual head protection. Mostly just a thicker sweat band.
