This is my favorite brand of food grade DE. I take it internally as a source of silica, among other things, and this brand is good quality and uniformly very fine dust with no lumps. I've been taking this for years. It's marvelous for hair growth and also helps noticeably with joint pain. I worked up to taking 2 tbsp a day, which I've stuck with. This helped my joint pain more than glucosamine and condroitan, which did very little for me. DE also helps with regularity.

UPDATE: Four months later, and I've got about 25% left, and no bed bugs! We did have to replace the bed, which we needed to do anyway because it was so old (at least 20 years). We sprinkled around the baseboards and used a plastic bottle with a tip on it to spray on top of the baseboards. Until we could afford a new bed, we'd sprinkle under and on the mattress itself, and then cover with a sheet. Magic.Original: I was hesitant to buy this at first. I've read a lot of bed bug sites, and they all indicate that you have to wash all clothing, all bedding, all towels, etc. I live in an apartment. I pay to wash laundry. I could not imagine the laundry bill!Then, on a site that gives instructions for removing bed bugs your self, I read about DE. I read several reviews here on Amazon, and, of course, there were several negative reviews. However, there are significantly more positive reviews. I bought it.Our sheets and comforter are brown. We found very few bed bugs and very little evidence of bed bugs. However, I was being eaten to death by bed bugs. For weeks. I was sure that it was a rash, because my husband didn't get one bite for several weeks. Then he got two. I had been seeing doctors for the 'rash', and they were stumped.So! Using a regular sifter, I spread the DE between the mattresses, on the top mattress, some of the pillows, and I made the bed. There is a slight odor, but for the first night in weeks, I didn't have one bed bug.And I still don't have any bed bug bites, three weeks later. We did pull the furniture away from the wall so that we could get the it in the tiny cracks.Also, you don't need a special sifter for this. You can use a kitchen sifter because this is food grade DE and simply wash it after use.I can't endorse this enough. It is heavenly to be itch free!

I bought this because we have been battling weavel (beetle) flour bugs in our cabinets for about a year. It seemed no matter how much I scrubbed there was always one product they found their way into. I got sick of inspecting food before each meal and trying to double and triple wrap things in plastic so I gave this a try. I scrubbed the cabinets with soap and water, relined them, sorted through infected products, and then as a final step I sprinkled this all over the cabinets. I also put some in my toaster. In the first 4 weeks I found the bugs evacuating my toaster and cabinets in a crippled manner- it seemed this product was working! In the next three months the bugs became less and less frequent until they were no longer; much of the powder settled on the shelves and it became less messy.I am now weavel free and I have begun to use this on strawberries in my garden too. It works quite well and is totally safe for my cat and family, which makes it the perfect product for our needs. I am extremely happy with this purchase!EDIT*Just want to update- it has been 6 months (at least) since I used this and we still have no weavels in our home! I continue to carefully check our cabinets and food products but there is absolutely no sign of them. I had to sprinkle it in my toaster again to make sure they weren't eating the bread from the crumb tray, but other than this I have not had to reapply the product.As for my strawberries, we have no aphids, beatles or caterpillars on them. Now, if only it worked for squirrels!
