I have a 5th wheel RV and have used a pin lock which works well but I have always been concerned about theft, especially if I was Boondocking and was away for the day hiking, etc. I’ve changed all of the “standard” locks so that my locks are not the common stock locks. Hopefully this will help prevent a burglary but I want additional security to prevent stealing my RV. Now any security can be bypassed but the plan it to my it more difficult to steal. Adding this wheel clamp lock to one of the wheels along with my pin lock gives me a little piece of mind. Not the most expensive but the reviews seem solid. Haven’t used this away from home yet but it is additional security.

First impressions on this product are good! Very sturdy and has a nice weight to it. Nice bright color to catch the attention of a thief, which would in turn have a chance of deterring them. I bought two, one for my trailer and one for my quad. One product comes with 3 keys! Also the keys are different for each product, not universal which is good for security reasons, someone who has this product cannot use their key to unlock yours. This fits perfectly for my trailers tires but is a but wonky on my mud tires (included a picture of the tires without the lock) If you have big mud tires on it may not fit, it can open up very wide but is not very long as to get around the tire. I would highly recommend otherwise.

I own 2 of these, one works great, the 2nd one failed after 5 months. I think the lock tumbler failed, I can turn the key left and right, in and out, but cannot get the lokcking pin to release. So, I now have a trailer with the wheel locked in the middle of the mountains and can't find a way to free it. I may need to buy a welder and drive it hours back to the trailer just to free it.

I have a tiny teardrop trailer. I've read that a hitch lock is good, but that people are able to just push this trailer into a toy hauler or flatbed and take it away, even without using the hitch. I am always surprised how simple it is to put this lock on and off my trailer. Once on it's solid and I can't see how anyone could move the trailer. I'm sure a determined thief can overcome any deterrent, and that's what insurance is for, but I feel safe now leaving my trailer in my driveway and at the campsite and that it will be there when I get back.

As I said about other security measures, this is just one level of deterrence. I use three levels of deterrence on my trailer: Wheel lock, pin lock, and a ball lock. The goal is to make most thieves bypass my trailer as too much trouble and give enough time to respond in the event of a theft attempt.

Bought two of these. We recently lost a locked truck and 18’ enclosed trailer of tools in 5 minutes, outside a church, while we were inside. Was looking for something to to deter that from happening. GPS route seemed complicated and not that dependable. As well as other tracking forms. Hard to prevent a determined thief, but this provides a secure deterring tool, they’ll not drive off with or remove without effort. It would have prevented the initial theft. Simple, easy to use, and very effective. The size we got was for the trailer, and too small for the F350 truck.

I bought this after my '85 (non-running) scooter was molested for the third time in about three months. Conventional cables had been cut, most recently with a cut wheel device- and not a Dremel! I wanted more VISUAL deterrence, so I opted for a wheel lock- and this product filled the bill nicely.Although meant for much larger vehicles, cars, motorcycles, trailers, etc.- I found it applicable for my much smaller wheel on my scooter. (I also added another cable securing the rear- that looks like an anaconda)About 10 days in use, on the front wheel. No evidence of damage or theft, etc.

So I am not sure what all the five stars are about, they are based on looks, not security which is what I bought this for. As some reviewers have stated boats disappeared with this on it. It's here and I have it on but at best it is a visual deterrent and nothing more. It will not keep your trailer secure if someone hooks up and drives off. It is literally held in place by one little push in button. I have a hitch lock on as well so, together hopefully they slow someone down or at least give them pause where they say not worth it. Want security spend more, this is NOT a five star item.
