excellent choice
The Mikrotik RB3011UIAS-RM router is an exceptional piece of hardware that offers unmatched performance and reliability. In terms of features and value, this router is easily the best choice on the market. It comes equipped with a powerful 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A15 processor and 1GB of RAM, making it capable of handling even the most demanding networking tasks. One of the standout features of the RB3011UIAS-RM is its 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, which offer lightning-fast speeds for data transfer and network communication. Additionally, this router also includes multiple USB 3.0 ports and a Serial port, providing plenty of options for connecting peripherals and expanding the device's functionality.Another key aspect of the RB3011UIAS-RM is its intuitive and user-friendly interface, which makes it easy to configure and manage the device to meet your specific needs. Whether you're setting up a small business network or managing a larger enterprise network, this router has everything you need to get the job done.Overall, I highly recommend the Mikrotik RB3011UIAS-RM router to anyone looking for a reliable and high-performance networking solution that won't break the bank. With its impressive features, ease of use, and affordable price point, this router is truly the best choice for anyone in need of a powerful and affordable networking solution.

Works perfectly fine
It was easy to configure. The IPtables kind of setup is something not many would like but I prefer it over the dumbed down versions. The screen can be turned off which is good.Does not run hot despite 22 total devices being connected to 1Gbps fiber internet. Its the most decent price to value of a router I have ever had.Works with UnifiPro AP out of the box.LAN transfers speeds are awesome. No choke at all because of good packet throughput.I was able to send real-time logs to Splunk instance so I can monitor the network traffic.Very powerful features, if you know what you are doing.Fanless but not hot, has been in use for 1+year non-stop. So no annoying fan sounds. The UI is simple and easy to use.Cons: being nit-pickyMight be too advanced for home users. Took me a decent amount of time to learn RouterOS and have it setup right with port forwarding etc.Has limited memory and processing power so it cant really take on much outside of whats built-in. it would explain the lack of direct access since it wouldn't do much good. I wouldnt try to build too much cache or DNS lookup into it. I just used an external system for dnsmasq and squid. RouterOS can do cache and use a parent cache but it can itself be the choke.no SSH but has a terminal with RouterOS commands.wish it had 10Gbe ;)Doesnt seem to hit 1Gbps internet speeds like Edgemax used to. Might be limitation of having too many ports on the same board sharing the bandwidth. Its not a big deal to be stuck at 800Mbps.overall happy with it and glad to be rid of Edgemax.Would definitely get RouterOS in future.

Best hardware purchase in a long time. Incredible features, performance, and price point. RB3011UiAS
Device: RB3011UiAS, in use 1+ year. Are you tired of managing off the shelf WIFI routers with custom firmware?Need a router which can NAT 1G+ bit speeds? These were my primary reasons for retiring old off the shelf WIFI routers with custom software.Currently used as the primary router for a home/office network with non standard configurations for (DNS, DHCP, port forwarding, VPN's).Easy supports NAT at 1G network speeds - assuming your ISP + subscription supports it.Provides basic graphs for usage and real time data which can help you understanddevice usage. Learned some new things about DNS simply by the data provided by the router. It has supported everything my previous routers provided plus more.Recommended for power users or people with some experience and don't mind learning as they go.

Fast and Stable
It's been installed in my home for about 2 weeks now and so far has been rock solid and lightning fast. Everything works as advertised except the touchscreen dispay. There's no nice way to say it, so I'll just say it sucks. It looks okay, but it is a pain to use. Try to click on the right side of the screen and it will register something on the left side. Try scrolling down and you will click on every option a few times before you get to where you want to go. I only used it a little bit during setup, so it's no big deal. The web interface is pretty straightforward and not complicated if you have a little experience with network equipment. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and highly recommend it.

Powerful Yet Simple
I like the ease of use and feature support this item provides.I purchased this to interface with the ISP for a new fiber install. The setup was intuitive.Main reason I purchased this was to have control over the network and not to pay a monthly fee for a router leased by the ISP.

Powerful router but complex to setup beyond the basics
This is currently my edge router for the house and home lab. The unit has worked without issues and doesn't have any problems keeping up with my 300Mbs line and hopefully the same will be true when we get gigabit fiber. The unit is very quiet and uses little power.Mikrotik doesn't design these unit for the general population and I struggle somethings setting things up that are "easy" on the Cisco routers. That said, I love the price and feature set that is available. Winbox is a great tool for administration. The forums have a lot of good information. The unit provides firewall policy, DHCP for the house, DNS for the home lab, VLAN routing, VPN gateway, and other tasks. With the kids home and me tinkering, it barely exceeds 5% utilization. My only "complaint" is this unit only comes with a single SFP port and it would have a great SFP+ instead for use in the network core for VLAN routing.
