Imperial Dabman 1 Portable Stereo

This tiny DAB radio is great, playing to built-in bluetooth speakers in the bathroom or a portable bluetooth speakerVery occasionally on startup it needs reconnecting to the speaker but usually it remembers it fineIf you're not using with headphones I recommend spending a couple of euros/pounds/dollars on one of the little made-in-China extending aerials that fit into the headphone socket - that boosts the reception nicelyThe only minor criticism, which doesn't merit losing a star, is that I find the power button is a bit fiddly, but at least you don't press it by accident

Very disappointed with this product. Purchased so that I could connect it using Bluetooth to my headphones whilst working outside. The display is very hard to see, especially in sunlight. The brochure said up to 11 hours operation time, I was lucky if it lasted 4 hours before the battery died. The range is very poor, if I moved more than about 20 foot from the radio, it would lose connection. Another annoying feature is that you have to go into the menu every time you power on, to turn on the Bluetooth function. Finally, after 2 weeks of use, it went into a scanning loop. Power off/on, or factory reset, could not clear the problem. Sent back and awaiting refund.

It seems to have a limited number of preset channels. I like to listen to LBC but I live outside of London. I used to be able to get it on my old Roberts radio but not on this one. It has no external speaker. It is very small and light weight so would be good for jogging etc. The display is very hard to see especially in bright sunlight. Not worth the relatively high price.

The first one I bought had a faulty on-off switch, but Amazon replaced it promptly and without any problem. The replacement has so far worked excellently, and my only slight disappointment now is that to connect my bluetooth headphones each time, I have to switch bluetooth off and then on again. If it connected immediately, I would give 5 stars, despite the original faulty switch.

The Imperial Dabman 1 is an excellent product. It does exactly as the product is described. I use it in my car and have it connected to my car audio via bluetooth. The bluetooth signal is strong and clear. The Dabman 1 tuner has really nice sound clarity too. DAB+ 😀

The Dabman 1 is a neat little radio, well made and a very convenient size for your pocket. However, without holding it in the air above my head, I am unable to get any reception from any station either DAB or FM. I have a Pure 2500 which picks up all the stations so it is not a lack of signal. I am very disappointed.

Does exactly what is says on the packet and best of all, it works in Australia. Will tune to all the DAB+ stations in Sydney and play through a Bluetooth system at home or in the car. It is expensive but cheaper than alternative in-car DAB+ solutions.
