Worked perfectly
Used two layers of this on top of four layers of 24 oz cloth to complete the re-glassing of a 3 inch hole on my sailboat's cabin top. The photo is after fairing and sanding.

Easy to cut, doesn't fray/shred. A bit better structural integrity than typical fiberglass mat
Worked great for my repair. Easy to cut, doesn't shred/fray like typical fiberglass 'matting'.

Works fine, however to stop losing the loose strands of fiberglass around the edges, I took a small propane torch and heated the loose strand edges of the patches I cut before I put them in place. That kept the lose strands from going everywhere as you coated the fiberglass matting. Don't use a large flame, or you'll light fiberglass on fire though!!! Flame will melt the loose fuzz together..worked fine on cracks!!

Stiff. Really stiff. Feels like plastic.
This feels like a stiff, heavy polyester sailcloth rather than a soft fabric that conforms to the shape it is draped over. "Plastic" is really the best term to describe what it feels like. Wets out okay, but doesn't end up glass-clear.Would be suitable for repairs or new work on a mostly flat surface where you are intending to paint or otherwise hide with an opaque surface treatment. If you are laminating wood or need something to conform to tighter curves (say around 1/2-inch radius or less, maybe 1/4 inch on the bias) you will be better served by finding cloth from a boat building supplier. I purchased from Amazon to save having to set up an account on another site. That decision, which I now regret, cost me the price of this product plus the half ounce of epoxy I wasted on the failed attempt to use it, because I ended up having to order the "good stuff" from one of those sites anyway. I'm not a fiberglass expert, but this isn't my first rodeo, and the intended project incorporates features that should have made it easier to fiberglass. The attached image shows a 35mm wide strip, fully saturated with SystemThree General Purpose epoxy and allowed to cure under it's own weight to give you an idea of just how stiff it is. I will probably end up using this to fabricate fittings, where transparency and appearance aren't the primary requirements.
