The solution is used once in a while to test your meter accuracy. you put a test strip inthe meteer at the top and use a small amount on solution instead of your blood to get a reading to check if the meter is reading correctly **Q: Where on vial can I find what the reading/concentration should be? it is reading 122 but im not sure if that is good or bad** A: The Control Range info should be on the test strip container, not the Control Solution vial. If you're using Level 3 (Mid) Control Solution, 122 is within range. **Q: Why is the control solution not included? I paid $80 and now I have to pay more to test the quality of the test strips? Not happy with this.** A: The solution only has a six month expiraion date once opened and it only takes a single drop. Would be nice if came in smaller container and cost less. I can't see ever using a whole vial before it expires. I'll only use 6 drops in six months. Bummer. **Q: pls indicate expiry date or discard date. thnx** A: The expiration for the bottle I purchased July 2016 is January 2018 - more than adequate time for use.
