I don't think I've owned Percale sheets before, if I had then I'm sure I'd remember because they're lovely. Much nicer than my ordinary cotton sheets. I had to look up percale to see what made it a bit special and wiki says, "Percale has a thread count of about 200 or higher and is noticeably tighter than the standard type of weave used for bedsheets". It's like a matt satin, sort of. Very nice and cool on the skin to lie on and doesn't feel like it will easily 'bobble' like standard sheets do with age.The only fault I can find with this is the smell when it first comes out of the packet. It's very nicely and neatly packaged but once out of the packaging the chemical smell is really, really strong. I usually wash all my bedding when it's first new in case there is any starch remaining that needs to wash out but even if I knew for a fact this hadn't been starched (I'm pretty sure it has) I'd have had to wash it. My goodness, that chemical smell is overpowering! On the plus side though, the sheet washes and dries nicely and looks good as new afterwards.Lovely fitted sheet though. Bit on the pricey side but it's probably worth it in the long run.
