How To Be Invisible: Lyrics

This is poetry.
This is a beautifully bound book of lyrics by KB with a lengthy, but entertaining forward by David Mitchell. The lyrics are Kate's choice but I doubt if there are too many favourites missing. As the previous reviewer said, to call this a book of lyrics is doing it a disservice. Without music, these words stand up on their own. This is poetry.

Just beautiful
For every kate Bush fan this is just a beautiful cloth covered book of her wonderful lyrics; every song has its own memory from listening to KB at school as a teenager, opening up your mind to these fantastic stories to last years and years and still offering new insights today. Perfect reading for these days

A treasure
A beautiful little hard back book.Understated on the outside and magic for any fan inside.A well written forward giving a brief history and then song lyrics track by track. It reads like a poetry anthology and I even discovered that I had for years got the odd word wrong.A lovely item to keep and refer to at a good price.

This is Art
So much more than just another female artist, Kate Bush burst onto the British Music scene in the late 70's with the for the time totally surreal and brilliant Wuthering Heights - and has held a special place in our collective imaginations ever since.Collected lyrics from over eighty of her personally hand picked songs from all ten studio albums grace this fascinating cloth bound hardbacked tome, and they have been collated in loosely themed groups of six along with themed artwork and a lengthy fascinating introduction covering her entire career. Not just any old song lyrics - these are poetry and art of the highest calibre, and at a fantastic price too.Beautiful and fascinating, a highly recommended five star purchase.Outstanding!

Most of this woman's work.
Of course, the lyrics themselves, presented as poetry, are wonderful - but why aren't all of them there? What was the process of the selection / rejection? Who did the little drawings? Why isn't there a commentary - or brief note giving depth and deeper meaning to the words themselves - just a hint or clue? It's almost like she had nothing to do with it. Very disappointing - but at least the introduction by David Mitchell is worth it. Not overly expensive - so three stars, but a sense of being short changed.

Interesting but not Joni
A selection of lyrics by Kate Bush, nice book, good introduction, but Kate is definitely better listened to than read. Not Joni therefore, but interesting to go back to years later.
