Nice camera for techies
I bought this because it supports Linux. If you have some programming skills, you really might like this camera. I'm loving the features (especially the ROI, or hardware "crop" mode), but the Linux GUI seems rather limited. The Windows version is more complete, but I didn't buy it to use with Windows. Basically the SDK gives me access to the features of the camera that I want to use, and I just had to write some C++ code to use those features. SDK documentation is adequate and accurate, but rather terse. I can't necessarily recommend it to the uninitiated (unless you're running windows) but if you care to do some programming, you could have some serious fun with this camera.(Picture taken with ROI configured for 1280x1280, to speed up the frame rate and reduce the cost of storing so many black sky pixels on every frame). Taken under "moderate-to-poor" seeing conditions, so I believe the camera can actually do quite a bit better than this.Second photo taken with 1024x1024 ROI on a 3x Barlow. Better seeing conditions than previous shot.

I couldn't get my images to focus right. It was probably my inpatients with the technical settings but I returned it.

It's OK
Works reasonably well. It's only good with bright objects such as the moon.

I'd definitely purchase again!
The ioptron gets five because I needed a reliable durable camera with a higher resolution for planetary imaging and this Gave me exactly what I'm looking for. The software is incredibly easy, it took me about five minutes to get set up and have the moon on my screen. I've started imaging saturn and this is awesome! I'm not sure how to post a pic but I think you guys would be impressed, especially for this price.

Buy it with no Regrets and save a ton too.
The media could not be loaded. I have seen this same camera going for tons more money. ioptron is selling it at a great price and it does really well on the Sun and moon.A really nice easy to use software comes with it. The HD resolution is really a nice bonus.About my only negative is the software has no sharpness adjustment to it.Buy it and you won't regret it.

Good camera also for microscopes
Bought it for the telescope, but the software was written for microscope use. This turned out great for me. Best micriscope camera I have and I have a few. Also took some great pictures of a day time moon, which turned out well.
