i didnt particularly like the holder
this item broke after only a few uses. i didnt particularly like the holder, i used it for mushrooms mostly and they seemed to slip out or get caught in the blade after not cutting all the way. overall, i would not buy again even at reduced price.

Great Mandolin
This hand held slicer works great for quick small jobs in the kitchen. I use it to slice cucumbers, radishes, onions and even potatoes. It also has three thickness settings and the base can rest on a flat surface as well as the edge of a bowl. The guard works well to protect your fingers too. It's easy to clean in the dishwasher as well as small and easy to store. I liked the price too.

Came broken
This thing came broken in to pieces! I literally opened the envelope and the mandolin was not even in package and was broken. Very very flimsy and not worth it.
