Q: Is this better then the popcorn hour A-410 ? in terms of video and audio quality ?

I have not compared it to the popcorn hour but suspect there is little difference. I have compared it to my Dune and Zappiti media players and it is equal if not better. I have an LG 4K 84" TV and an Anthem / Monitor Audio speaker configuration which it supports flawlessly. Where it wins is its software and inbuilt Jukebox scraper which is excellent.

Q: Will I be able to separate Movies and TV Series from eachother after using YAMJ/Y2M?

simple answer is yes as the underlying storage structure is folders, I have all my tv progs in TV Series, and films under archtype *action.adventure, scifi etc

Q: How does the record function work? I want to record TV progs and keep them as MPEG4 or somesuch. Currently using a DVD recorder and converting on PC

I don't think you can do that. This is a Media tank - it takes content from the internet - such as torrents - not from Sky or TV.

Q: thanks for the reply guys, u said it needed ethernet to scrape movie info will it work ok with a wifi dongle, and does it have copy to copy functiton

As I understand it. You have to use the specific WiFi adapter which fits in the back, like an expansion to it. Ive not tried it but I don't think it will work just plugging any old USB variant in. It does have a copy to copy feature but its its a bit of a pig navigating through it, opposed to plugging in a USB cable in the side socket and reading the internal drive as an external enclosure through a PC.
