5,000 LB x 1 LB NTEP Alleyway Livestock Scale Animal Scale / Large Livestock Scale with Indicator

The scale came faster than expected. When it did arrive, the box was damaged and it was missing a foot pad. I notified the company and they shipped another one out that day. Their customer service was top notch. The scale is a great value for the money. It is accurate within a half a pound. The digital read out will hold a charge so you can use it in the field (I haven't tested out the total length of time the charge will hold yet). It works well for weighing pigs, cattle, hay bales and manufactured products that you are shipping. We are happy with our purchase and we would recommend this scale.

Do not buy this scale. You will be sad and disappointed with the scale and the customer service. You can NOT understand them and they don't care to help. Cords showed up broken and it was pulling teeth to get replaced. The scale is now useless I have to get my own repair person to try to wire it correctly.

The indicator box that shows the digital weight stopped working 5 months after we got this scale. We have trouble shot with turning it off and then back on, leaving it to charge for over 24 hours, unhooking it completely, keeping it plugged in all the time. When we turn it on it shows a code of PS1-02 and blares an alarm and shows all 888888888. Sometimes it counts down from 9-0 then alarms and show all 88888888. We’ve also made sure to try different plug ins to see if that made a difference - it didn’t. We now prob have to buy a new indicator box. So frustrating! Wondering if this is warranted at all? Big investment for it not to work at least for a year

the only complaint I have, and it really isn't one more of a suggestion. before working any hoofed live stock I would suggest you place, some sort of stall mat or something that want allow your animals to slip on the painted checker plate base. I cut a piece of the heavy duty stall mat to fit and placed over the base so the my cows/calf's will have some traction. the digital scale worked perfectly and was pretty accurate close enough to get a pretty good Idea for your weights of cattle.

extremely happy. Needs a rougher surface of the platform. Too slippery for livestock. I added a rough surface and works well.

It’s heavy and bulky, but that goes to show it’s durable. Had a bent corner in shipping but that does not seem to hinder its ability. Seems to be accurate as we weighed ourselves due to the fact that we couldn’t get our miniature donkey on it, but he can be nervous at times. Thinking the other animals won’t pay attention to it. Came in under a week for delivery. Set up took an hour. Having help will make it better to assemble. It is slippery but we put a rubber mat on it and it zeroed itself, so that was simple. Wondering if the scale can be stored outside without issues.

The sides are bolt on, will not hold up. Platform is just too small for any calf over 400 lbs. The ramps on each end, although they seem like a good idea, they are distraction to the animals. I did put a rubber mat on as per other reviews.

Works well. we added some non slip grip tape to help the cattle not slide off. We will add sides to it to prevent slip off for now until we have it set down flush with the ground.
