SmartLab Toys Custom Rides Design Studio

I bought the Smart Lab Custom Rides Design Studio for my nine year old. Who loves to draw, loves cars & loves motorcycles. This gift held my child's attention and interest from the moment the box was opened. The LED-powered light tablet it comes with is light weight, bright and works great. It also comes with a 56 page color book, 6 traceable car bodies, 95 car body accessory clings, 5 traceable motorcycle bodies, 71 motorcycle accessory clings, 10 markers, 10 colored pencils, 2 graphite pencils, 1 eraser and 1 sharpener. This set does not include batteries for the LED-powered light tablet so you will need to buy 4 AA's. It's really an awesome set and good value for the price. I would highly recommend and could not have been happier with this purchase.

My son loves hot cars and motorcycles and I thought he would enjoy drawing them with this art kit. He is doing well with the Custom Rides design studio, however the instructions aren't as clear for a younger artist. I showed my son how to custom his rides however the kit is missing some greater details to help young boys.

OMG!! I bought this product for my 11 year old son for Christmas. He has loved car design since he was crawling around pushing them. He wants to be a car designer when he grows up. I wanted to find a design product that would give him a start in that direction, and boy did we find a good one!! Without going into too much detail, all I can say is buy this product!! If you have a child that aspires to be designer one day, buy this product!!. Perfect for ages 9 and up! Your child will spend hours creating and designing all types of cars and motorcylcles just like the professional. The full color page book contains awesome designs for your child to create over and over again!! The product comes with templates, acetates, drafting pencils, and more!! The LED lighted tablet is great! My son feels like a real design engineer. Thank-you Smartlab for bringing out the creativity, and imagination in my child!!

Purchased for christmas and quickly became the favorite. The light box is pretty nifty, it's just plastic, but its nice. Needs to come with a case for carrying all of the stuff that comes with it. My son got a drawing kit with space for the book and stencils from this set, and we pulled out an old book bag to keep this stuff and some other drawing supplies he's got. So a case or a holder is a good thing to buy along with this. Very cool, 6 yr old brother likes it too.

My young artist loves this. So far so good! It may get used by myself when these boring winter days come to us.

If you have a little artist who loves cars this is a fantastic gift. My six year old son uses the light box with the designs that came with it as well as with designs he has created himself. This was bought for Christmas and it is still going strong (4 months later). It is used on almost a daily basis in our home. He is very careful with his belongings, carries it carefully to and from his room, and always keeps it in his craft box (out of baby brothers reach) therefore we only know that it will stand up to proper care. I don't think it would survive a younger child or a child who does not show responsibility with their toys, etc. Also, the traceable pieces are removable for ease of creating a car, however we advised our son to leave them intact on the paper so as to preserve them and this is working just fine, he can still see through the paper for tracing purposes, he just has to line things up more carefully.

We got this for my son a couple of weeks ago and he has drawn at least three cars every day since. There are so many options to mix and match, the color pencils, while not the best out there, are great for him. It also comes with markers and a nice big drawing space. He loves it!
