I believe if the EMFSensor picked up any signal in would display a rhythmic reading, i.e., like a ringer, etc. So my answer is NO.ProfBill **Q: Can this be used to detect microwave electromagnetic waves?** A: Not unless the microwave is not shielded(?). . .my unit has never gone off.Prof Bill **Q: What frequencies of EMF does this meter detect?** A: That is not in the specs and I have no idea. All I know is if they are harmful it buzzes and turns red. I found quite a few things in my bedroom that had high emf like a CD player and that was helpful to me. I am not a scientist. I did not find any ghosts, but still hoping! **Q: Can this detect EM interference from cables and wiring??** A: Yes.
