Perfect!!
The American Standard Cadet 3 Single Piece toilets are known for there flush valves going bad. I replaced it and replaced this fill valve as well. It’s very easy to install. Just take the old one out and match the adjusted lengths of the new to the old. The n adjust water level if needed. Piece of cake! Good quality replacement valve!

American Standard is always redesigning their components
the new design of this float assembly may have been to correct intermittent leaking of an earlier design.It works well, and solved the leaking / running problem on a Champion 4 toilet which is one of the best toilet models available.

Easy install. Be sure to read my "IMPORTANT HEADS UP"
IMPORTANT HEADS UP. I installed this item and the fill time was about 4 minutes. That's pretty long! I called the number on the instructions and was told there is a restrictor in the very bottom threaded end and if I had high water pressure it could effect my fill time. I was told this can be removed. So with a pair of needlenose pliers I pulled this out (see photo) then re-assembled everything and it fills much faster.

No more running water in toilet
Looked just like the original that it replaced. Minimal tools are need to make the replacement. To help seal the threads of the water supply line hose to the new fill valve I used Teflon tape you can get at any hardware store. Took about 15 minutes to complete the job. Easy DIY project.

NOT GENUINE AMERICAN STANDARD PART!!
SCAMAZON got me on this one! I was deliberately looking for a genuine American Standard replacement part for my toilet. Saw this one and bought it. Paid about 30% more for it because it said it was genuine A. S. part.It arrived in a plain white box and inside it’s just a Fluidmaster fill valve. Even the instructions say Fluidmaster. The Fluidmaster valve fits and works just fine but had I known about it I would’ve just ordered a Fluidmaster part and saved $10+ dollars I overpaid. I was in a pinch had to get the toilet fixed otherwise I would have returned it.Just buy the Fluidmaster cheaper somewhere else.
