Hamilton Beach Toaster with Wide Slots, Sure-Toast Technology, Bagel & Defrost Settings, Auto Boost to Lift Smaller Breads, 4 Slice - Classic Model, Polished Stainless Steel

Been looking for a replacement toaster for over 6 months, researched for a long time and finally decided on the Hamilton Beach Classic Chrome and very pleased with the quality of toast. If you have the patience to wait an extra minute or two, it produces the best toast ever. Keep setting at 6 for thick bread and 4 -5 for thin bread. The reason I decided on Hamilton Beach was, I purchased a 2 slice toaster for our condo and was impressed with the quality of the toast and thought to myself, surely a 4 slot toaster can produce the same quality of toast ... and it does, its just a little slower than perhaps a toaster you would pay over $100.00 for but well worth the price. As for the longevity, I cannot comment on that but like everything else, with lots of TLC, it should last as long as our Waring toaster did which was 15 years. One more thing - it does not get as hot at other toasters I have tested on the outside, mainly on the upper outer edges - not the sides. I highly recommend this toaster!!! - Additional update since purchase - as I use this toaster I can honestly say it continues to make "the best toast ever"!

I perseverated over getting a toaster for weeks, as though I were buying a car or something. My goodness. But so many toasters get bad reviews, with the toaster not working, causing fires, burning, knobs falling off. Anyhoooo, I bought this since I have other Hamilton beach kitchen products and trusted the brand. It works. Have had for several months and no issues. Nice to have the double toaster, really comes in handy on weekend mornings feeding the family. Easy to clean, and doesn't have tons of grooves that catch crumbs. Would highly recommend.

I have had 3 of these. first 2 were damaged with huge holds in the side of the box, Strange part is the holes were in the exact same spot. Amazon replaced them . The one i have now worked great so i won;t take stars away because of the 1st two. Looked like a fork lift truck cause the damage on the first 2. Oh well. All is fine now.

My way-too-large toaster oven died, may it RIP. I used the oven maybe 10 times a year and debated if that was enough to warrant the size of the footprint. I opted to go with a toaster - and was overwhelmed at the number of and prices of toasters. Jeez - I just want crispy bread with some convenience. You could easily spend $80-$120 for a toaster - it really was more than I expected.I decided to narrow it down to AmazonPrime and under $60. It was down to this one and two others. I just liked the look of this one and it had the features that I wanted. It came super-fast (as always) and it looks very retro. Nice, shiny chrome and good design on the knobs. I dropped a star because the pushbuttons and darkness knob feel like they'll be the first parts to go. I won't be using much other than toast, so I expect no problems. If you're going to switch the settings a lot, read other reviews to gauge the durability of these components. The cord set up is a bit awkward, but it does work. I'd prefer it to retract, but it has guides it fits in to.Makes great toast! Toaster ovens are set too far away from the elements to do a good job on toast - and this is even on both sides. I started in the middle and adjusted it a bit darker - it's stayed constant since I set it. It comes with a booklet (that I haven't read - it's just a toaster!), but I'll keep it for future reference. Perfect size and works well.Bottom line, great toaster! Buy with confidence.

This toaster has been a game changer! After having our cheapo toaster for more than 10 years, we decided it was time to move up in the world. With 4 kids, we figured it was time to upgrade to 4 slices. I was tempted to buy the same type of cheap toaster, but only 4 slices, but ended up deciding to spend a little more on this one. I was skeptical at all the features buttons. Seriously, I had a cheap toaster for years that had no buttons. Well, after using this for a few months, I wish I would have bought it sooner. My new favorite button is the bagel button. ,y kids love to eat those mini bagels and this works great for them. I also like the reheat button. Every once in awhile I will throw toast or a waffle or something in the toaster and get busy with something else. When I come back, my food is cold, but alas, I hit the reheat button and instead of overcooking my food, it just warms it back to how it should have been. The defrost button has been useful too, when I forget to take bread out of the freezer before making sandwiches for lunch. Overall, I'm satisfied and I definitely think this was an upgrade from the cheap one. :)

Worked well, but half no longer works.

Like most inexpensive kitchen appliances it barely does what it is designed to do. This is the third toaster (not all of this brand) I have purchased in the past year. All have essentially the same deficiencies, the most important being poorly wound heating coils causing hot and cold spots, among other mechanical/electrical issues. If a heating wire is pulled too tight across the board that carries it it does not heat up to the same temperature as the other wires causing a lack of uniform browning. In addition, the temperature/color color control is extremely touchy on mine; I like lightly toasted breads, however, at about 1/16th turn off of full left rotation (lightest color) it will burn the toast, yet tapping the end of the dial so it moves just ever so slightly to the left results in toast with barely any color. Yes it's frustrating. I also believe the sensors inside are highly susceptible to ambient temperatures in the kitchen. The cooler my kitchen is, the more precisely it toasts. By cooler I mean in the lower 50 degree range (old farmhouse).Overall, I get mystery toast out of both sides with this one, ...so far. On both of the previous brands I have owned recently, one side stopped working completely after a few months.I wish I could find a good old fashioned thermally activated/100% mechanical toaster again. I had the same toaster prior to the last two for over twenty years before it gave up. Sad is today's quality.

It was not mentioned that the product will run on 110volts.The quality also not upto the mark.

Casi siempre tenemos q poner dos veces el pan para q quede tostado aunque este a todo

Un tostador muy bonito y con funciones útiles, pero solo tuesta un lado del pan y la potencia está muy intensa, el pan te puede salir totalmente quemado si se te pasa tantito. Desafortunadamente lo tuve que devolver.

Lo use por unos meses sin problema pero a partir de ahi solo funcionan 2 rejillas.
