Great deer call

I like the sound the long can produces. In my opinion it is very realistic sounding. Mine was delivered to my mailbox in Dec. And it was very cold outside. When I first opened it and tried to use it. The diaphragm inside the can was not sliding freely creating a start/stop action and not a smooth bleat. I shook the can back and forth several times trying to free up the diaphragm. After the can warmed up and a few more shakes it sounds great. My recommendation would be to keep this call in a warm pocket while not in use and it should be a useful tool when needed. I started walking my granddaughter, a couple times a week, near a nature preserve in central Texas in early 2024. We saw deer almost every walk for months but then we didn't see any for ages. It occurred to me to try a deer call so I got this and it made a believer out of me on the first day! I used it a couple times as we were nearing the Nature Preserve and then again after we walked another hundred yards or so. Before I even noticed, my granddaughter was pointing out a buck in the brush no more than 20 feet from us! We saw at least 6 more bucks over the next half hour.I'm not a hunter but if I was I might feel guilty about how well this works!

It’s small enough to tuck away in a cargo pocket. It’s not very loud but then again it doesn’t need to be. I used it with a grunt tube and harvested a very nice 8 point and two does this season.

Good stuff

I purchased this to replace non-working primos cans that simply stop working properly making unwanted sounds, unlike the new units. This one lasted one trip to Ohio before it too stopped making decent sounds. They do work when new and I have enjoyed success using these over the years but durability is less than expected. Even keeping them in your backpack or pocket doesn't help because once moisture is in the air they fail and never produce the correct sound again. I generally like all Primos products as they seem to get most everything right including Elk and Turkey calls that allowed me great success. The Can works too but only for a short period b4 you will need to replace. They never function correctly once they get any moisture and never dry out again.
