Wow, these pens are excellent! First of all, what a bargain for all the pens you get and what you pay for them! These pens write so nice, smooth and feels great in the hand (comfortable). I was surprised at how well they write which is nice and dark with no skipping or smudging. And I've been doing a lot of writing so far and the ink is still inking! Overall, these I'm very pleased with these pens! Will definitely purchase again!

As someone who works well organizing by color, these pens are a great and affordable alternative to expensive pens. They write well once primed and create smooth, smudge free work. Incredible value to get two of each pen.

I needed a bunch of pens for a project where I would be handing them out to students with a notebook. After the class was over, I took the remaining leftover pens home with me. I started using them around the house and then left one with my journal and started writing with it every day.The ink is smooth and the color is nice and dark. They’re easy to write with low friction at all, I just wished they would last longer.

I LOVE pens and call myself a pen snob! It's not the cost of the pen that makes them exceptional to me; it's the writing experience. The pen has to feel good in the hand and write smoothly without scratching, ink blobs, or skipping to be exceptional to me. I don't use gel pens because they smear/run if they get wet. As a hobby, I enter (and win!) lots of sweepstakes, both electronically and via mail-in entries. If the ink smears or washes away, my mail-in entries won't get delivered, wasting a stamp. Therefore, I prefer ballpoint pens. The Amazon Basics Black Retractible Ballpoint Pens are exceptional and meet all my standards for excellence at a very affordable price!. I didn't know they existed until I used one at a doctor's office to fill out paperwork. I was so impressed by these pens, I wen't home and ordered some for myself. Since they come in a pack of 12, I have extras for those times when a pen gets lost or "borrowed" by someone and is never returned. It happens! These pens feel good in the hand and the ink dries quickly with no smearing or blobs. The only thing better would be if they came in assorted colored ink. Maybe someday.

Been there, done that with so many different brands of pens. Plastic, stainless, or combination trying to find a reliable pen that was comfortable to use. G2 were good, but gel never dries, water all but erases your work. Waterproof gels not much better. Other comfort writer ink pens stop writing, causing you to frantically scribble. Zebra stainless pens were good, but not that comfortable and if inverted too long, what a mess. Ink pens that look like gels were not much better with globs of ink, paper fiber clotting at end.I thought I would have to settle for a pen that was sub par or keep going into the bank to grab a new pen or two with each transaction, but no more! Amazon throws their hat into the world of writing instruments with a flick of their wrists. You know those white plastic barreled pens that many companies advertise with? Yep these are basically the same except Amazon Basics has a rubber grip feel to them, comfortable and light weight. Thought hmmm seems cheap, but wait, it actually starts to write quickly, no scribbling required. And wow, it writes real smooth. I was skeptical since the box of 12 was very light compared to others. But its really a nice pen, Im shocked. Its that easy to create a good economical pen, no fuss? Apparently it is and Amazon has them by the dozen at a great price. I cleaned out the pencil cup, even the new unused pens of old were tossed, yeah that bad and frustrating! So for the first few days I'm happy and will update once I go through a few. Thanks Amazon!!!Update: Amazon Basics ink pens are a disappointment. Beeb using for a couple of months, now replacing with another brand. Keep the pens upright in a pancil cup, but they lack ink at the start, even if they've been previously used. Clumping of ink on the tip is very annoying as well. Still writes smooth once the get going, but it takes a few seconds many times. The frantic scribbling is what is the worst and this turn out to be no better than the rest.Bummer. Really wanted to love this pen, but filing for seperation using another brand.

I'll admit it: I'm longtime OCD where pens are concerned. They have to be black. They have to be ballpoint. Medium. They have to write extremely smoothly, but not "slippery" like gel pens. They have to NOT make goopy blobs, late in their lives. They have to feel good in my hand. FINALLY, they have to be as affordable as possible.Check. Check. Check. Check. Check. Check. Check.
