Fun for kids
The media could not be loaded. the children liked the claw game. heavy use the first day, occasional use after. they liked putting their toys and other neat stuff in the game to capture. grand daughter wanted to "fill it up with prizes like the big claw games". tried that. doesn't work well that way. picks up best off of floor of game, not from pile of stuff (don't overload). Yes, coin slot is a little wonky. sometimes you just barely insert coin and it starts up,...Hey, FREE GAME !!! Sometimes you might have to insert 2, 3 or 4 coins to get it to start,...get over it. you ever play a slot machine? it's not real money anyway. we left the door off the bottom of the coin box and the coins just fall straight through onto the table/floor, never run out that way. The claw moves around kind of slowly, at least for adults it does. the kids don't seem to mind it. when we opened and set up, the claw would not drop. re-read the instructions, found someone with long slender fingers to gently jiggle, untangle the chain. we just kept messing with it until it worked...?? Hard to reach through that 2" opening on top. Pretty good toy. Glad we purchased.

Weak Claw and Cheaply Made
I'm honestly disappointed how cheap this unit feels.First, the claw itself is incredibly weak and has close to zero strength at all. The claw "picks up" things by "scooping" them and since the claw itself has no strength, anything that has a semblance of weight that can't be scooped up probably won't be. This also means that the placement of items inside the box is crucial as the claw needs room to position under most items to scoop them up. One way to get around this is by purchasing small, hollow, circular balls that can be filled with things like candy that can be scooped up or by using very small near weightless pieces of candy (think mini Halloween bites). This dropped my overall rating to about 3 - 3 1/2 stars.Secondly, the coin slot is incredibly flimsy and broke for me literally within the 10th try when I was experimenting with different candy and candy placement. The way the coin slot works is you put a coin (the included plastic coins or pennies) into the slot and as you push the coin in, it pushes a loose piece of plastic attached to a spring at the top that hits a trigger and starts the game. However, my coin slot broke almost immediately so that when I put a coin in the slot it drops promptly into the coin bank bypassing the top plastic spring that's supposed to start the game entirely. I haven't even had The Claw for an hour and now to start the game I have to put something into the coin slot to push the top trigger as coins will no longer work. This dropped my review to a generous 2 stars. This item was purchased as a Christmas gift and while you can get around the flimsy Claw with some creativity, a flimsy claw + a broken coin slot right out of the box is an unacceptable deal breaker for me especially as a $50 gift. My concern however isn't that I got a lemon but that these units are just cheaply manufactured and badly engineered and break easily.

This is a GREAT claw machine
I read a lot of reviews and was very hesitant to buy any of the claw machines available on Amazon. It's true you can't fill the machine with a lot of items but it works! The claw has to go to the bottom of the machine to open up. It comes with little stuffed toys. Very important*** The music is not overly loud and annoying and can be turned completely off. We bought this for my daughters 7th birthday and she played with it for hours. Everyone from a 7 year old to a 75 year old tried it. Give your kids a break from the screens. Buy a claw machine.

50/50
Only gave this 4 stars because upon setting it up it became clear there where minor defects and poor design choices.1. Bag to cover claw was extremely difficult to remove. Which is necessary to play.2. There is no access inside box without a full break apart. Which would help when a toy gets stuck.3. The claw had to be "popped" open before it would function on it's own properly.4. Claw chain itself is pretty loud when being operated. But all in all my 5yr old is able to reach in to fix jams and we have relocated it to her room so we do not have to listen to it grind. Might not buy again but it ended up being a decent santa gift.

The kids love it, and so do we with the sound off
The sound can be turned off, which is nice, except the sound is the only thing that indicates you're about out of time. But the kids love it. The case inside isn't tall enough to accommodate more than one layer of toys (the claw is too tall to come up high enough with a toy dangling). But all in all, we're glad we bought it.

Very fun toy
This claw machine is better than the others because it has the lights on the corners. It is kind of difficult to get the plastic off the claw since you can't really fit your hand all the way inside. But once it's up and running it is really fun! But you can only have one layer of prizes in order for it to grip things, and they have to have some room in between each price. Otherwise, it would be too difficult to pick the prizes up. Overall, I would recommend this. It is fun for adults and kids. We used it to randomly pick Secret Santa names for the holidays, since you can easily pick up a lightly wadded up piece of paper with the claw!

INSERT THE COIN to make it work!!!
At first, it didn’t work since the guid paper was kind of confusing. I sent an email to them because the due date for return was over. They were so flexible and kind to refund my money immediately. I decided to try for the last time so I put the batteries inside and make the machine on again but this time I inserted the coins inside and it worked. Remember! You have to INSERT THE COIN after doing everything else. Really nice customer service. I will pay them again.
