The Encyclopedia of Sharks

I am a shark fanatic, and every year around "Shark Week" I try to add to my collection of shark paraphernalia. I ordered this book, which was listed as "Used - Good Condition" with "some cover wear due to reading." Needless to say, I was less that pleased with the description. The cover was badly damaged, to the point that pages started coming out the first time I opened it. Heaving creasing on both covers have caused them both to tear, and the spine cover is so damaged the glue has separated and pages are not attached. However, the book itself is wonderful. Great pictures, scientific information is presented in an easy-to-read manner, with plenty of cross-referencing. If not for the inaccurate description, I would have given this 5 stars.

I got this for a kid, and they like to look at the pictures in it.

I purchased this book on Amazon for my 8 yr old son after we went to the aquarium and saw it for $25......huge savings! This book is very detailed and since he is into animals, it tells him everything he wants to know about every species of sharks. This is a great reference book that he will have for years to come. I am so glad that I purchased it for him.

My little marine biologist wanna be 9 year old daughter really likes this book. I myself went to school for marine biology & I really like it too. Full of really good facts.

My Grandson's birthday is coming up and he is crazy about sharks. I can't wait for him to see it----he is going to be thrilled and also, he will think his Nana is so special. Love it!!

This book is great full of wide variety of detail and pictures. Our son is 4yrs old and loves for us to read it every night he can not get enough of learning about sharks!!

My 8 year old nephew is fascinated by sharks, so, I got this book for his birthday and he LOVED it! He started reading it at the party and couldn't put it down.

much loved grandson is in the throes of fascination with sharks, he can quote practically word for word all the information on the habits and habitats of all the species, a very useful present.

Bought this for my nine year old daughter who is obsessed with sharks, she reads it every night before bed and absolutely loves it, a really good book at a great price. I can't complain.

Grandson loved the book
