Steven Wilson, described by The Telegraph as the most successful British musician most people have never heard of embarked on his hugely ambitious sold-out To The Bone world tour in 2018. Founder and frontman of adored outsider rock band Porcupine Tree; one half of Blackfield; a Grammy nominated back catalogue remixer for acts like Roxy Music, King Crimson and Tears for Fears, as well as a solo artist hugely respected for a series of visionary LPs, from 2008 s Insurgentes, to his bestselling album To The Bone. Home Invasion celebrates the very best from across his career so far, presented as a cinematic multi-media show with glorious visualisations and outstanding musicianship. This stunning concert film was captured on the final night of his three night sold out residency at the Royal Albert Hall, London in March 2018, concerts which were hailed by media and fans alike as among the very best shows of the year.

Mr. Wilson forges ahead
In the world of new progressive rock there are fans of Steven Wilson forever whingeing about the demise of his previous band, Porcupine Tree, and his betrayal of 'difficult' music for pastures new. It's all chatroom rubbish. of course. Any artist worth his salt wants to move on, try new things and build on what they've done before. This DVD/Blu Ray of one of his three-nights at the Royal Albert Hall in 2018 showcases the full range of his career high points, with a hugely-talented band (featuring Nick Beggs on bass - almost worth the price of entry on his own!) , inventive use of screen projections and stunning sound. There's plenty of tricksy time signatures, brutal riffing and the presence of the brilliant Ninet Tayeb on several songs. You'd have to be a real grinch of a prog fan not to find this all mind-blowing stuff, but some people like their familiar hidey-holes of "He was better before..."Oh, and watch out for the dancers during 'Permanating' - old-prog fans will blow a gasket!
