This product has most features one could require from a home or small-office safe and is competitively priced. Unfortunately, due to a non-standard certificate it is not particularly suitable for customers who need a safe for the purpose of UK-based insurance.The safe comes with a Czech certificate "Class I according to ČSN EN 1143-1". A little research revealed that this rating has a cash limit of CZK500,000 (approximately £15,000). This is where the confusion begins. Some retailers in the UK list this as a £10,000 cash rating safe (suitable jewelry worth for up to £100,000), while others list it as a £6,000 cash rating safe (jewelry up to £60,000). Importantly, most insurers in the UK are only willing to treat it as a £6,000 cash rating safe, while others struggle to classify it altogether, because they only work with safes that have a certificate with an explicit UK cash rating or equivalent.To be fair, the Amazon listing does allude to potential problems in the description and in the Q&A further down the page (the product name is still misleading though, as it says the safe is £10,000 cash rating). In any case, it should be mentioned that the retailer was extremely co-operative and helpful, answering questions to the best of their ability and providing copies of the necessary certificates prior to the purchase. It's just a shame that after the details were checked carefully it turned out that the product was not certified according to UK standards.To sum up, if your insurer is based in the UK and requires a safe with a certificate that mentions explicitly a UK approved cash rating, you might be better off going for a different product (with either a UK certificate or an official Eurograde certificate, both of which are universally accepted in the UK).

The safe is as described but came without any instructions. I also thought it would come with a keyed override, as it shows a key on the box. I contacted the seller regarding this and they were helpful in providing me with the information I needed. Also check with your insurance regarding the rating value. One last thing, it is heavy and you will definitely need 2 people or you will end up rolling up the stairs and sliding into position as I did.
