Calcium Chloride Test Method. ASTM F 1869, Standard Test Method for Measuring Moisture Vapor Emission Rate (MVER) of Concrete Subfloor Using Anhydrous Calcium Chloride This method has and is the industry standard. Calcium Chloride Test allows you to achieve a quantitative figure which will coincide with floor manufactures requirements. Please note: The measurement obtained performing a Calcium Chloride only reflects the current condition of the concrete. Results will reflect a figure of weight in pounds of water evaporations giving off over 1000 ft2 over a 24hr period. The test must be done when the building is at the same temperature and humidity.

Because we really wanted to make sure that the dome was air tight, we used duct tape around the perimeter of the dome over and above the gummy, sticky edge that came with the kit. We also had to purchase a small, more accurate scale to weigh the disk that absorbs the moisture. It's an easy-to-use, accurate kit and would highly recommend it to anyone concerned about what kind of flooring their slab foundation can handle.

A: You need a gram scale. You take the start weight and end weight difference and use the included formula. Co. In Aneheim CA. Hass epoxy made for high emmision up to 15pds per 1k. Garage coatings

**Q: Does this test for concrete work for a slab outside**
A: It will test the moisture content in the slab.it's best for intierior slabs .I'm almost sure it will give a good reading outside as long as it isn't raining or you have a lot of humidity.Also I don't know what area you live in and what the hydostatic pressure is ie the water content coming up from underneath the slab.anywaythis test will also tell you that.

**Q: What are the ph strips and fluid for? Isn't the test just based on weight?**
A: It's a separate test to check the pH of the concrete.  This can also effect costings

Havent used the test yet, but it arrived in a few days and included everything described in the kit. I will be using the test to measure the moisture in a concrete floor. Im testing to see if I can install a hardwood floor.
