My 4 year old (who wore 5t) was super skinny and tall and his large was snug on him at the age of 4 so I would not recommend it.

Large 4T-6T 25" 24" 26" 48" up to 55 lbs.

Q: Q: What is the height and weight suggestion for the 3-4 costume?

I don't know the manufacturers suggestions, however, I have a 38inch and 34lb 3 year old and we went with the 4-6 size and it fits well.
