EXCELLENT PIECE OF KIT
So glad I took the plunge and bought this after so much research and checking reviews etc I wanted an upgrade to my much cheaper one I got from the vine few weeks ago which was ok but it had a little distortion. This one was only £50 odd quid and a life saver, not only did the distortion go away with this one its got extra features and I have more control over things. The sound quality is excellent it really is and I can't tell the difference with my 1963 old Bush SRP30D which sounds incredible just like the modern day Audio Technica AT-LPXBT though I did have to upgrade my cartridge for modern day MM one. What such great value this little unit is. As you can see from my photo I have connected this to my record player then phono switch box then another pre amp to boost the bass and treble a wee bit. This set up works great. I also earthed it as well to the mains plug to reduce the hum it all sounds incredible. Highly recommended.

Bought this to amplify Denon DP-300f
I bought this to amplify my Denon DP-300f. The Denon comes with a built in phono stage but this is much louder (twice as loud). I can plug my 3.5mm jack headphones straight in and adjust the volume. I can also connect this straight to my Bluetooth transmitter to connect with my pair of Denon Home 150 Bluetooth speakers. The volume dial works with both headphones and speakers. All in all, its a great device. I was happy with my system, now I'm very happy.Worth doing if you are using the Denon DP-300f built-in phono stage.

Good but.....
Product came well packaged and on time.Very well put together and solid feeling.Tried it out, Good sound quality. Although not enough volume, I had to advance the control to the 4 o'clock position to get a decent volume in the SONY MDR-7506 headphones, which are very efficient themselves.Turntable TECHNICS SL1210mkii, Cartridge AUDIO TECHNICA AT95SH tracking at 2 grams. Totally silent using my usual amplifier set up.The RIGHT channel of the phono pre-amp/headphone amp at that setting gave a very slight buzzing noise when the music stopped in between tracks. The left channel was completely silent, as it should be.And yes I had the earth connected too.Overall a 4 out of 5.Too much bother sending it back.

Dangerous
I had this connected to my amp and found that i was getting a very loud signal from the unit. This was nit really an issue as i listen to my music quite loud and the sound drowned out the sound, i could only hear the noise when there was no input from the speakers. This was bearable until yesterday when i touched the unit and got a small shock from it, if that was not bad enough, the whole electrics of my house shorted which left an extreme buzzing sound coming from my speakers. This is enough to tell me that i should not be using this unit. I think that this issue is that the unit is not earthed and my turntable does not have an earth lead. I would be EXTREMELY concerned about buying this product. I think, doing research , that most cheap preamps need to be earthed to get rid of the buzzing sound but there is NO WARNING on the product info that this unit could actually be dangerous if you do not earth it. Overall i will be taking this up with amazon as my daughter may have had a severe injury from this unit, as well as the generall electrics of my house. STAY CLEAR OF THIS.

Does what it is meant to
Back in my day pre amps were massive and jack plugs were a quarter inch, but here is a compact, fits in the palm of your hand, creature that does the job (even with a tiny jack plug). So far no problems with it, AND it's also got a grounding screw. Of course, my generation looks upon anything, yes anything, created after 1979 with much suspicion, but I needn't have done as it has all bases covered and does what it's meant to. Happy as a pig in muck.

Decent budget phono amp with a good headphone out
Needed a small, cheap preamp for a turntable in my office. Saw this with a headphone out, and thought I’d give it a go.Really impressed with it, solidly made and all working really well...more than up to the job on my decent budget system (project essentials, Cambridge audio amp).Headphone output is excellent too - All in all, a bit of a bargain.

Broke after a year
I purchased this product a little over a year ago and it broke. The power supply earth pin became disconnected (cheap power supply) so I purchased another power supply and although the light shows power it passes no sound. I've tried multiple power supplies but it's no good. The power input label indicates that it wants 12-18V AC. Not the case, it works on DC. This hints at the general "Chinese" feel to this unit. For the money, double down on something a little more pricey because you'll likely pay twice anyway. Like I'm about to...But I'll be spending some decent money because I don't want a repeat of this fail.2 stars because it worked well for about 13 months.
