A good torch, a bit let down by the fripperies.
First the good - a solid little torch. 4 modes, operated by a separate switch (meaning it'll default back to whichever you last used, no need to cycle through again, as you need to do for those who have one switch for on/off and modes). However one of the modes - firefly is it - is useless, so in reality there's 3. The high one is plenty bright - I used it in an unlit basement and it was excellent, bright, and with a wide beam angle.A bit let down by some stupid stuff: doesn't ship with ANY batteries (not even 2 cheap AA's), the lanyard is a P.I.T.A. to fit, and the instructions/warranty/documentation is one small sheet with 8 languages.

Thrunite Archer 2A V3 In-depth review
The media could not be loaded. I am collector and user of quality flashlights/torches, and I have a lot of them. I have bought a few Thrunite lights through the years, and they all still work well. The Thrunite Archer 2A V3 is quite a classic light. I never got around to buying an earlier version of it, as it has been available for a few years. Don't be put off by that, because it's a good light with a high-spec and a good LED. I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of this light. I bought the CW Cool white version, which turned out to be a very nice colour. The Thrunite Archer 2A V3 uses two AA batteries (not included) which is ideal when out in the wilderness, or even just walking the dog. Although I have many lights that takes rechargeable lithium batteries, I still find an AA light very useful, and the Archer 2A V3 is a good example of how to get the most brightness and run-time out of your batteries with it's efficient circuitry. Unlike lithium, you can leave one of these AA battery lights in your car for emergencies, or in your house long-term, and it's unlikely to be dead when you need it most. It's also great to see spare o' rings, switch covers and a lanyard included in the box, as o' rings and switch covers can wear out and be tricky (if not impossible) to find. The Thrunite Archer 2A V3 has nicely spaced brightness modes, which include a very low firefly mode. This may seem silly, but if you are in a tent and don't want to wake someone, or lose your night-vision while reading a map etc, it can be very useful. The Archer 2A V3's beam profile is fairly 'floody' which means it will light up your path in front of you well with quite a wide spill of light. It has a bit of throw (distance), but with a small shallow reflector it's designed to be a general use light for close to midrange distances. I found it good for around 50 metres (164 feet) maximum usable distance for me, as long as there is not much overwhelming light from street lights etc. It also has an anti-reflective coating and toughened glass lens. It works with both standard AA batteries and rechargeable AA's.Operation:Press-button tail switch turns the light on/off, (including momentary for signalling).Front button selects brightness levels (press and hold it for strobe).Memory function:The light will remember the last used brightness setting (except for strobe mode).Brightness Levels & Runtimes-----------------------------------------------* High 500 lumens - 120 mins approx* Medium 70 lumens - 11 hours approx* Low 17 Lumens - 51 hours approx* Firefly 0.2 Lumens - 51 days approx* Strobe 400 Lumens - 135 Minutes ApproxPros:* Very light weight and fits most pockets.* Uses two AA batteries which are easily available.* Water resistant.* AR coated, toughened glass lens.* Memory mode remembers last used brightness setting.* Well spaced brightness modes.* Efficient circuitry gets the most out of your AA batteries. 11 hours in medium (70 lumens) is terrific.* Comes with lanyard, pocket clip, spare o'rings, switch covers.* Momentary mode for signalling, or a quick burst of light without needing to fully click the switch.* Quality brand.Cons:* Included instructions say they do not recommend running the light at maximum brightness mode for more than 10 mins. This possibly means that there is no temperature regulation in the light? As most newer lights will drop their brightness level to control heat. This isn't as bad as it sounds, as I have lights that will only stay on their brightest setting for under a minute. Usually you can let the light cool down for a short time and then re-select the higher brightness setting if you really need it.Summary:At this price it's a bargain for a well respected brand like Thrunite. I have actually bought two (as I know my daughter will want one as soon as she sees it :)

Powerful Small Torch
Does exactly what the description says, lightweight, powerful beam with various settings. Battery life so far is excellent.

No instructions, not very bright at all.
Wouldn't hurt to place a picture or two on the printed leaflet included about where the power switch is (it's not where you might think it is) / how to access the battery enclosure / how the loop is supposed to be attached? Not sure what the extra item in the plastic seal bag was for either, unfortunately

Love it
Love this torch, the fit and finish is good quality and the size fits nicely in the hand. The operation is simple, click on and off with the tail switch and cycle through the modes Low to high using the side button near thè head. There is a memory so the light will come on at the same setting as it was last used. The Low is enough to find your way around thè bedroom without waking thè wife, while thè medium will light your path and the high is 500lm.The pocket clip is removeable and reversibile and the torch sits nicely in a jacket or trouser pocket. This is a great multi purpose light ideal by thè bed, in the car or in your pocket.I might need to get a few more :)

Superior quality light, not zoomable.
I like the quality of the light, it's warmer and more natural than cheaper torches. It's not zoomable though, so you're stuck if the coverage isn't right for what you are doing. Would buy again.
