The holder it’s heavy, perfect for holding my sharpening stones and steady when I’m using it. Great buy , expensive, but worth it

This holder completely surprised me with its density and wait. The entire center section of the holder that is surrounded by the rubber is one large piece of glass. It is amazingly robust and sturdy. With the weight and the rubber, it holds itself in place really well on a granite or Corian countertop, which is where I do most of my sharpening. This has been one of the best investments I could make for my glass stones.

I use it for sharpening chisels and planer blades. It’s pricey but very sturdy which is important for the task.

Everything I have gotten is the Shapton Glass sharpening system has been exceptional. This holder is wonderful!

Does as expected but high priced for what it does.

Seems to be built well. Heavy enough and grippy enough to resist sliding around. It’s not adjustable though... it’s sized specifically for Shapton’s own stones.

Nice mass and very stable, snug fit for all of my stones.

The Shapton stones are a challenge for some - particularly for those of us new to sharpening or who are only occasionally able to get into the shop (like we have to have a job to support our woodworking!). This thing is heavy and really helps get the stones to the right, or certainly a better, height for sharpening. I highly recommend it. If you think it's pricy think about it saving you one stone sliding off onto the floor!
