I prune them down every year or they would grow taller. If you allow all the side shoots to grow, you could prune it into a bush, but not likely. It goes mostly from a main trunk into a very tall and fruitful trees. I have canned a lot of mulberry jam, which everyone loves. And it makes great pies and fruit leathers. It is a very fast growing and prolific TREE! **Q: I just got my little trees, do I keep them indoors over the winter ?** A: I would. I got mine late spring and I potted it and left it on my porch.
