Yes, I'm Adopted!

Add it to your stash!
My little guy was fostered and adopted at such a young age that he has no memory of his first family or why he was placed in foster care. Now at 7, he has lots of big feelings and questions that we’ve been working through. Part of that has been being intentional about our book collection and I’ve included a pic of some of our recent finds! I’ve shed a lot of tears reading these with him and it’s led to some really beautiful conversations.

Great book to help explain adoption.
Love this book for adoptees and to teach non adoptees about adoption.

Unexpected religious twist
Good book focuses primarily on looking different. I like that it talked about the birth mother and parents coming together out of love for the child. Then the end it all of a sudden mentions God and that’s the reason the family came together. Not keen on that twist so I change the words when I read it. Other than that, great message and very straightforward about adoption.

Perfect book
I can't be more happy with this book. My guy is 3 years old and have been trying to figure out a way to explain everything to him, and this book hit the nail on the head. He gets excited to read his "special book", and it is helping him understand that he is just like everyone else

Very short and a little bit religious
The book is cute and my foster son and I had fun but it’s too short. Also we’re not religious and it brings the statement that god decided that our kid would come to us, which is far from my beliefs.

A PERFECT gift or read for ANY adopted child!
This is a great book for any child adopted! Our purpose was for an adopted foster child, as many adoption books seem to be more focused on typical adoption, this book has the general feel of adoption as a whole. It celebrates adoption! We loved reading it to our 4 year old daughter. It is an easy read and a good book for when she starts to read. We also plan to have this book go with her to school to be read there, so her classmates can better understand the beauty of adoption. So they too can celebrate her adoption. Highly recommend!

easy read
I got this for our son (4 now) who we adopted at birth. He likes the book and refers to the baby as him. I just wish there was an adoption book that we could customize to how we all look. The boy has red hair and green eyes, our son has blond curly hair and blue eyes. There might be one out there that I'm not aware of though. But overall it's a good book explaining adoption for now and he reads along with me.

Very cute book
Cute book. Great artwork. My son loves me reading it to them over and over. It does mention God at the end which I didn’t know when I purchased it. But I’m okay with that

For children from birth going to 2 parents.
This is a lovely book but should state there are religious connotations in it. Beautifully written.

Religious undertones
Great little rhyming book to introduce your adopted child to the concept of adoption. My criticism is of the Religious aspect which I was not expecting. To say that the adoption was "planned by God above" at the end I find to be I'll placed for us as a family unit, which presents more questions and frankly confuses matters. If like us you are a family with no particular religious affiliation we wish to approach the subject of the existence/involvement of God separately to the subject of being adopted. May not be important to most people but it is to us. A little disappointed that this was not mentioned within the books description.
