Q: What is the easiest way to take the magnet off of a metal surface? Is it difficult?

The easiest way is to slide the magnet to the edge of your ferrous surface. If you are concerned about scratching the surface, you could put a moleskin (or similar cloth) between the magnet and the surface. The slide technique makes it very easy to remove the magnet.

Q: Do these work for the inside of a van ?

These magnetic hooks are great for vans, perfect for the iron surface, but not suggested for the Aluminum surface. Because the Aluminum material is not magnetically permeable.

Q: Does anyone know if the polarity of the magnets is random? Hoping to get two of each so that two of the magnets will attract each other.

The polarity of the magnets with hooks are the same, and you may attract them to each other with only part of the magnets.

Q: Can you completely remove the hook it comes with? I would like to use it without it. Thanks

Of course you can. You can take off the carabiner whenever you can, but you may not remove the rotate part.
