So, I pulled off the interstate into a truck stop thinking my tranny was shot. Check the fluid....all within levels, no burned smells, color look good. I waited about an hour decided to try to make it home. After three hours of driving 40 mph, made it in. Next day, took it to the tranny shop expecting the worst, the tech said the transmission was fine but my catalytic converter was clogged up and suggested replacing it....he said with the type I have & with the labor, it would cost over $1000....after some research, I found the Eastern direct fit "cat", it should fit my truck & it comes with all the hardware so I could do it myself (saving all that labor cost). After two and half hours, the cat was on & it fit perfectly. It been on for about an month, so far so good. If you know your Chevy/GMC needs a "cat", get the Eastern 50376 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, you can't go wrong. Also, make sure to change the O2 sensors (3 total).... Review: DOESN'T FIT S-10 PICKUP TRUCKS ,ONLY FITS S-10 BLAZERS !!! - I rated this 4 stars for only one reason it doesn't fit directly on the S-10 pickup trucks it is instead made to fit the S-10 blazer ,that said I was able to have a local muffler shop make a few bend adjustments and it now fits perfectly. This listing should be updated to insure that others know its not a direct fit for the S-10 pickup trucks . The pickup has the transmission crossmember in a different location and the rear floor pan design on the blazer means the the connection to the muffler is also wrong for the S-10 pickup.
