Sansha's Pro 1 ballet slipper is perfect for training or performing alike. Its lightweight canvas upper is double-lined for durability, and elastic straps secure the perfect fit. In 1982, Franck Raoul-Duval, a 25-year-old Frenchman with a passion for dance and Russian history, created a new type of ballet shoe. After numerous trials and adjustments, he came up with an innovation that changed the lives of dancers everywhere. The split-sole ballet slipper, with its glove-like fit, was born. Sansha now manufactures an extensive range of dance shoes for everything from ballet to jazz, hip-hop to flamenco, and ballroom to tap. Sansha collaborates with dance professionals, teachers and store owners to remain a prominent brand in the dance capitals of the world.

Seller removed elastics?
I adore these ballet slippers. I've been wearing them for over half my life, first as a dancer, and now as a teacher. Never once in the 20+ years I've been wearing these shoes have they arrived with no elastics. They usually have two lengths of elastic attached at the back of the heel so you can criss-cross them and sew them to the correct length and placement near the arch of your foot. This is the first time I've ever purchased anything from Dance Shoe Deals, and I think it will be the last. The elastics on my shoes were removed, and the stitching on the inside of the heel has clearly been tampered with. I happen to prefer wearing Sansha's flesh colored shoes, so even though I went out and bought the right type of elastic, the color doesn't match. I could remove some from my old shoes, but I like to sew my next pair and have them ready to go before my old shoes are worn out. I break in the new shoes in spurts, and continue to have my old, comfy shoes available until the holes get to be too much of a problem. I can't do that if I remove the elastics of my current shoes for the new ones. There's a sticker on the front of the packaging of my shoes that says "free key ring inside." That wasn't inside either. I don't care about having the key ring, but the fact that it wasn't inside my shoe package lends further credence to my belief that the seller opened the package and tampered with its contents. I ordered my shoes almost three months ago and am just now getting around to sewing them, otherwise I would return mine and reorder from a seller I trust. If your shoes don't arrive with elastics, just know that they should!

I really don't like these ballet slippers
I really don't like these ballet slippers. I've tried a lot of different kinds, from Bloch Elastosplits to Capezio Cobra to So Dancas, and this is the only one that really just isn't good. There are so few things I need from my ballet slippers! (1) The size should be predictable - apparently Sansha thought it would be fun to randomly invent their own system? (2) The fabric should be ballet slipper fabric - these were okay, but a little plasticky and weird-feeling (3) The shoes should be comfortable - which these are not. The lining isn't sewn down very well, and there's a bunch of random fabric in the toes which bunches up and feels really annoying. If you have only tried these ballet slippers I strongly suggest you go to the dance store and try a few other pairs on - literally anything else. These are just weird and not good in so many different ways. I wore mine for one day and threw them away. I didn't realize it was possible to subtly mess up ballet slippers in so many ways - literally every other brand I've tried has been fine.

These are good quality shoes
I used to buy these all the time when I was younger. I decided to try these out again, and they don;t fit as well as they used too. They are snug in the heel, but very baggy in the toe. It's not that they are too long, but the the toe is wide, while the heel is narrow if that makes sense? These are good quality shoes, they just aren't shaped like they used to be, which is a tad disappointing. If you have a wider toe region, and slender heel, these will totally work for you!

Nice fit, Covers heel
These have plentiful coverage of the heel area, toes suede location is nice for turns, the laces are useful. I ordered 2 sizes up from shoe size, nice fit.Capezio Canvas Romeo are sock-like, feel great and focused to point front.Sansha demi-pointe canvas: more slipper/shoe-like with its higher heel, feel great and have nice inside front toe pad that fits to your foot. Pad lands on your demi.Capezio Leather Romeo are semi-slipper and very comfortable but not as nice as Sansha.

Perfect!!!
I travel and fly a LOT. I can't live without ballet slippers. I pack them in my carry on for the plane (that's not water on the bathroom floor, ya'll) for the long-haul flights, and I have a separate pair that I put in my luggage for the hotel. They are the perfect hotel shoe, I seriously have to have them. I also love the black ones because they don't show dirt. I also throw them right in the washing machine with the rest of my stuff when I get home. These ones are perfect -- I have bought the Sansha brand before, I do find that they run a little small and for these purposes I order up a size. Definitely worth the money!!!

Fits an 11 wide high instep
We bought this for our dancer who has 11 wide Egyptian feet with high insteps.Plain and simple this is a great shoe!If we could get it as a street shoe my daughter would live exclusively in these Pro 1'sAs a parent I thought I'd write a review for others in a similar situation to ours. The local dance stores do not carry pink leather shoes in the sizes we need so we are extremely grateful for Amazon.Pro:The length is perfect for an 11 wide. Our dancer's high instep is very hard to fit and these do not cut into the foot.No ingrown toenail problems with the Pro 1IMHO better for Greek/Morton's or Giselle/Roman FeetCons:Your type of feet may affect the look of the pointed foot.IMHO not for extremely tapered Egyptian feet if you have one of the rare exacting techniques teachers. Our dancer's extremely tapered toes adversely affect the look of the Pro 1 shoe when pointing her toes. The leather in front of the tapered toes area bunches up and makes it hard for the teacher to see if the toes are pointed when doing tendus. We bought the Sansha Silhouette in the same size and it was a more flattering fit for our dancer's extremely tapered toes. With she tendus with the Silhouette there is a tiny bit of excess material but significantly less than the Pro 1. The Silhouette's are fine for the ballet classes at her dance studio. However our dancer just added private lessons with a highly sought after technique teacher across town who is less than pleased with the shoe so I am going to get Sansha's Silhouette 14W and pray it stretches enough to not hurt my dancers toes. These Pro 1 we will keep for her dance studio classes were the ballet teacher is less exacting about the shoes.

Sizing not accurate
The shoes arrived on time hence the 2 stars, however unfortunately I ordered a UK 15 as was shown on the description however they were at most a UK size 12 so I was forced to return them. They were good quality so it was a shame they would not fit and after contacting Amazon there was no way of talking to the seller to discuss a replacement of the correct size.

Great quality time and time again
We have bought these shoes many times over the years. They are fantastic. Sizing is a bit tricky for your first pair so look at the sizing guide. The narrow fit regular to narrow feet well. They last beautifully and get a ton of wear from my ballerina daughter with heavy usage. Carpets wreck ballet shoes (covid dancing at home!). Much cheaper than the ballet school identical shoes. Elastics just need to be sewn according to your own sizing in one end.

Great shoes but don’t size up!
Ignore sizing comments to size up! This is my usual size and they fit perfectly. I originally sized up and had to return. Other than that they are the same great Sanshas I’m used to dancing in.

Great Sansha Shoes. Wear a street shoe size 8 mens and always order Sansha 11M and they fit great!
