helpfull but needs some modification
ok,these are great for your ladder stand that doesn't have a rail.......that being said the pad on the back support pushes you toward the front of the stand and if you have a small seat that's 2 inches ........I removed it and it's better,,,,,, also it twist from side to side the one strap isn't enough to hold it in place....drill a hole in it and put a screw in and your be much happier......another thing you need to do is put up a hook above it so you can fasten the rail up in place so you can get in and out of your stand without it falling on you ....I just used a piece of the racket strap and tied it to my gun/bow holder .....nice and simple.anyway having these with there minor problems is like having a saftly rail on your stand and well worth it, i've tried others and they all have the same problems .....hopefully this is helpful too somebody, all the best :)

What I wanted
Very good product I’ve had it in a ladder stand that didn’t have a rail and it works great . Don’t like the height of it it’s easy to adjust and very sturdy .

Some Sag
Works great. Simple to hang. Had a stand with no rail. Feels safer and is sturdy enough to steady crossbow or shotgun. Allow for the limited sag when using as a shooting rail. Very quiet and conceals well with the padded camo wrap.

Easy solution for stands that don't have a shooting rail
This rail was easy to assemble and install. It's light enough to easily hoist up to my stand by myself, and the ratchet strap/tooth combo make for a sturdy attachment to the tree. I've seen other reviews stating that it's not sturdy enough, or doesn't support enough weight. Understand this: This is designed to support your rifle (or crossbow), not your body. This is not a shooting bench that you lean on. The headrest and padded camo cover are durable, and I can easily hang camo cloth from the rail to construct my tree blind. I'm very happy with this product, and I own/use two of them.

Does what it’s supposed to do.
Wish this item was a little more sturdy when ratcheted onto a tree. It is a bit bouncy, but it is a good item for the money.

A must for hang-on stands.
Even though I use a safety harness, Hang-ons still freak me out because there's nothing to grab onto. Installing this rail gave me great peace of mind. Tip: assemble it at home so your not losing bolts and washers in the woods. Once together you just gotta strap it to the tree. Easy to adjust and get very tight to the tree. Waiting on a buck to come by right now !

Could Be Better
It fairly light, goes up easily enough, and the padding and camo cover for the rail is adequate, so I give it three stars, but because it is only supported where the rail is connected to the back bar, any weight placed on the front of the rail causes it to sag significantly, so you would have to place the back of the unit level with your shoulders for the front of the rail to actually be high enough to provide an adequate rifle rest at a comfortable shooting height for most men, which also means that at that height it would be uncomfortable as an arm rest, which is actually the primary reason I bought this rail. I solved that particular problem by installing the unit at about mid-chest high wnen seated, and using my Primo's mono-pod shooting stick under and strapped to the front of the rail to stabilize it. Next season I will probably make an attachment with velcro straps and leave it in the tree stand. Other reviewers are also correct in that the back pad forces you to lean forward uncomfortably, or at least scoot your butt forward on the already too small fold-down seats that come on most hanging stands you would want this rail for, so I don't use the pad and just put up with the metal bar in my back. One other note, and another negative, where the rail is supported by the back bar there is metal to metal contact that will squeak at absolutely the wrong moment so from experience, you will want to put some gorilla tape on the metal to prevent that.
