I mounted mine so the battery slides in from the top, so even if I fail to clip it all the way in, it should be secure. Each plate has a small alignment groove on one side, so a set of these will all line up neatly, which was nice. The screw holes just barely fit onto a 2x4, especially if it has rounded edges like mine. I actually angled the screws inward a little just to make sure I had a good grip. It would be nice if they were just a little closer toward the middle of the plate. Also, since there are only two screw holes, if your mounting surface isn’t entirely flat, they will want to twist to follow the surface. I just left one of the screws a little loose so I wasn’t forcing the plate into a weird position and risking breaking it. The price is right for these, they work great and give me a secure place to mount my “charged” batteries. They also sit above the 2x4 enough that they’ll make a shelf for a few spares on the board.
