In business giving frequent and relevant feedback is important and it is becoming more important to fulfill one of the basic needs and wants of an increasing number of millennials in the workforce. Creating an environment that promotes feedback and gives and receives good feedback is important. I found "The Feedback Imperative" to be a great book. Important content. Easy read. A must for all managers, leaders and organizational consultants.

Yes. Yes. And Yes.Yes: Great content.Yes: Effectively laid out.Yes: Practically designed. It is also my repeated “favorite” to take to seasonal holiday events for professional bookswaps in related industries where good use and availability of feedback is invaluable.

An Uninsightful Overview
The book dabbled far too broadly over too wide of a range of topics to really get into the details of any one topic.

Practical help in thinking about and applying feedback.
So helpful. The writing is clear, the ideas are immediately applicable, and the research presented is compelling. I read this for a work context, but it’s actually been just as helpful in my personal life. Well worth a read.

In The Feedback Imperative: How to Give Everyday Feedback ...
In The Feedback Imperative: How to Give Everyday Feedback to Speed Up Your Team’s Success Anna Carroll shares a couple of core messages. First she addresses need for honest bilateral feedback, despite the fear of the outcomes, the unknowns and movements beyond the comfort zone. Secondly, she shares a 6 steps plan to become a feedback professional. Instead of restricting 'feedback' to the yearly performance review, the author pleads to speed up to everyday feedback. It makes the plan-do-check-act cycle turn round daily and enhance the learning curve.Once leader to employee engagement is enriched with this type of feedback, retention and performance will rise. Third, she applies her message to the C-suite. Her extensive research and expertise in business consulting and psychology brings in the latest research results on motivation, brain plasticity, generational trends, information economy, paradigms and beliefs, and organizational culture. This book helps to build the bridge between people in need of helpful professional feedback and the ones to provide that. The inclusion of a huge part on coaching introduces a second core message, I would expect in a separate book. Looking for practical tools too? These are at the close of each chapter, and on a separate website www.EverydayFeedback.com.
