The TZONE RS485 Temperature Sensor features a high-accuracy SHT3X CMOS chip for precise temperature (-40°C to 125°C) and humidity (5-95% RH) monitoring. It supports Modbus RTU protocol over RS485 with up to 1200m transmission range and configurable baud rates (4800/9600/19200 bps). Its IP65 waterproof rating and DIP switch address setting make it ideal for multi-sensor industrial applications including HVAC, warehouses, and greenhouses, combining compact design with low power consumption for seamless integration.

good accuracy
I have been using this in my garage poking out of a little hole to get an idea of the outside temperature that I can then use in automations downstream. This seems to be accurate, and I have no communication errors - I haven't played around with anything other than leaving it at the defaults. They seem to work well enough, so I'm leaving it how it is. I haven't been able to use it with multiple being monitored, but there's nothing I can see that would suggest it wouldn't work. It's well documented, which makes it easy to set up and use without too much fuss. The reason for deducting a star is I share the other reviewers concern about the water-proofness over time - feels like there should be an extra o-ring to keep water out of the top and this feels like an oversight. I have it under a sofit so for me it shouldn't be too much of an issue. but if there was regular water exposure i would be a little worried.

Works Perfectly
Device seems to work perfectly, I ran it at 50ms comms interval for a couple of hours with no transmission errors at all using the default 9600,8,N,1 Settings. (you can configure the baud rate 4800, 9600 and 19200 only) Temperature and Humidity both have 0.1C/% Resolution, no issues with the accuracy for my use case as far as I can tell. Holding Registers 0 and 1 return temp and humidity, the rest is settings or identification. Where I do have a slight concern is how waterproof or industrial this is, the actual sensor PCB is waterproofed at the top where it goes into the black plastic ring, but then that ring itself then doesnt have any kind of o-ring to the grey body (though the 2 grey parts do have an o ring between them where you unscrew them to set the Slave Address) so I suspect water may get in over time at the top. Hopefully I am wrong. Its also all plastic construction, not cheap, but it also doesnt feel particularly industrial, which given the price I think I maybe was expecting a slightly stronger build quality. However I cant deny that it works well.
