Best knot book ever
5 Stars – Exactly What I NeededI’ve picked up a lot of knot books over the years, but The Ultimate Book of Everyday Knots by Geoffrey Budworth is the most useful one I’ve found. The illustrations are clear, step-by-step, and easy to follow without overcomplicating things. Whether you’re tying down gear, rigging something on the boat, or just want to master the basics, this book has you covered. It doesn’t waste space on fluff—just practical knots that work. I keep it close, and it’s already helped me out more than once. Highly recommend if you’re serious about learning knots the right way.

Beautiful
This book is gorgeous and beautifully illustrated. Very easy to read and follow. The book is larger than I expected. I didn't really read the specs when I bought it. Wasn't a factor just note worthy that it's not a dinky thin book. Each page is smooth and thick. Feels very durable. Filled with useful common and not so common knots. I am very happy with the purchase of this book.

Nice easy to follow
Not as exhaustive as Ashley, but it covers all the essentials and then some. Lots of nice color pictures on how to tie things.

Good reference material with some unfortunate gaps
This book is worth owning as a reference for learning knots, in particular the spiral-bound version. The illustrations are high quality and the inclusion of a Purpose section for each knot is important practical information. But there are unfortunate gaps that keep this book from earning "Ultimate" status. For example, there is no explicit reference to the Arbor Knot (Canadian Jam Knot) and its many variants.More disappointing is the lack of a section detailing "trucker hitch" knots and their variations. These are probably two of the more practical and important types of knots to learn. Hopefully future editions detail these topics.

Excellent book. Clear explanations and illustrations.
Perfect knot book includes every know I learned in Boy Scouts plus many other useful knots. Every knot has interesting background info, usage tips, step-by-step visual instructions, and full color photo of finished knot. Great for kids or adults.

More academic than practical
Whenever someone describes themselves as "the world's leading authority" on anything (as the author does), it should give you pause. As you might expect from the self-proclaimed World's Leading Authority on Knots, the tone of the writing is more academic and know-it-all than it is practical, and some of the knots I use most often (e.g., trucker's hitch, clinch knot) are not even described in here. That said, I did learn several new knots and once you get used to the way the author describes and draws the knots, it's pretty easy to follow along. All in all, this book is a good way to spend a few hours and learn a few new knots. But if you are looking for a book to tie better knots to use in every day life (climbing, fishing, lashing loads), this is probably not it.
