A truly non-biased (I’d say) extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand book based on many, many trials from all parts of the world. It has been well set out and flows seamlessly. The fact that one can eat foods to regenerate, repair, protect and help the body’s 5 defence systems thrive is so amazing.I’ve studied nutrition at a Diploma level (albeit 15 years ago) and it never once mentioned anything about angiogenesis and how important food is. I’m so impressed and I love to spread the word, sow the seed as it were in people’s minds to look at food as medicine that I’ve sent three people a copy as gift and one of them is a qualified MD. He admitted that he never had the faintest idea about all this.It’s no surprise really because doctors get about 5 hours of nutritional training in their entire5 learning years!!!Buy, read and pass it one for someone else. This Western diet is KILLING us in our droves!

The book does what promises!!
If you are looking for a way to understand how are bodies work , what they are made of and how they are constructed in order to beat diseases then is the perfect book for you. When I purchased whis book I would have never thought the amount of knowledge that brings to you. It is a complete eye opener, changed my life perspective 180° and made me aware of a lot of things.Yes it does have a lot of scientific evidence, yes it does have a lot of tables and yes it is a lot to take in but it is worth it. It is written so that anyone can read it. Dr Li wrote the book in such a way that all your questions are answered and no stone is left unturned. In all honesty I am not an avid reader but I could not put this book down. One of the most amazing and great books I have read, if you are starting your journey to becoming healthier this is a must!

Great information on how to use food as medicine!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to become healthy in a natural way!Whether you or a loved one is battling medical issues or just wanting to prevent them this is a great book to do that.I'm still in the process of reading it because I'm highlighting as I go. There is so much important information including how much you should consume (i.e. consuming 80 - 160 grams of cooked broccoli per week is associated with a reduced risk of many cancers, 20 grams of berries per day lowers your risk of lung cancer by 22%, 10 grams of soy protein per day lowers the risk of breast and prostate cancer, just to name a few.).There are even recipes to help you on your journey.Dr. William Li has a very easy doable plan to insure that you get at least 5 foods from 5 categories to help your body's 5 defense systems (angiogenesis, regeneration, microbiome, DNA protection, and immunity) to arm your body with the right ammo to fight off disease naturally.This book will be my reference manual for health for the rest of my life.I plan on gifting this book to my family and friends who haven't bought it yet.

Love it and still use it as a reference regularly
I've bought this book over a year ago and love it! Full of scientific research explained in an as simple as possible way. At times it goes quite much in to detail and I've only read those parts that were important or interesting to me. Love especially the part about the Microbiome because it directly links to the disease I have, colitis ulcerosa. It most definitely helped me to understand the body better and also taught me how to make positive changes for me and my inflamed intestines. Now I've been off my medicine all together for a year or so and I don't have stomach pain. Unbelievable. This book has helped a lot. It also motivated to research individual topics further by myself (such as microbiome, effects of fiber etc).
