These are fantastic, my 10 year old absolutely loves them !

Had quite good fun playing these, but you need more than 1 category to get good stories

Yes this is quite fun except sometimes we’re not sure what the pictures are supposed to be. Could have done with an explanation page on what each drawing is. Gets kids talking though.

This was a gift. Recipient happy but said instructions were not in English so their child wasn't able to play and they had to go online and figure out how it works.

The dice came in the classic Story Cube box with the old layout. I think the old design was nice, so I get that one whenever possible. The box is a bit thinner than the boxes they make now, but it doesn't feel like it'll break anytime soon. But the slipcase is too loose, a problem I often experience with Story Cubes.Story cube dice work like this: They have small pictures that you're supposed to string into stories. This one consists of nine six-sided dice; as far as I know, they were never sold separately.Let me grab one random die. The picture is of a bowl of porridge. The other images are of a stick figure with a bandana, a beaker from a laboratory, a micro-organism, a marauder's helmet, and stairs down. I could make this story by rolling the eight other dice: "It rained in the desert. That was the first sign, and soon the Roc egg would hatch. Clelia drank the witch's brew, tied the magic amulet around her neck and grabbed her axe. But when she stepped through the spirit gate, she saw they were waiting for her. Could her magic match their rayguns?" Another roll got me a monkey, a sun(or a sheriff star), a tent(possibly a circus tent), and a snake.As you can see, the illustrations in the Voyages Set can be understood in many ways but go off in wildly different directions. Here you find some symbols that fit fairy tales and some that suggest modern technology. That is a good thing if you're able to think broadly about the ideas that come up, but bad if you take everything too literally, like in my example above. It can lead to an abundance of pulpy "Indiana Jones"-plots, that's for sure. But I admit I expected something different when I bought the set. I expected pirates, the age of sail, and great explorers. Instead, I got Gulliver's travels, Lara Croft/Nathan Drake and the great scientific discoveries. And that's not bad, but it's surprising. There are a lot of symbols here that you could use with the Fantasia set, which works in its favour. But it's probably even better to combine them with the Actions and Standard sets since there's such a wide range of possible interpretations. In fact, I think combining this with the Actions set is almost mandatory: Most of the pictures suggest things, not happenings or people. In summary, this set feels very versatile but also a bit incomplete, so I give it three stars but want to give it four.

Das Spiel ist intuitiv und sehr kurzweilig. Klein im Packmass (kleiner als eine Zigarettenschachtel) und passt so in jede Tasche... gut für unterwegs
