The Admiral
A stunning story of David Robinson from the time he was born to his work on the school he opened, The Carver School in south east San Antonio. He is a true model for young people. I am not a basketball fan, but I am now a fan of this man, David Robinson.

This is a great book!!!!
Success is like cotton candy. It tastes good at the beginning and then quickly dissolves away. David Robinson learned these wise words when he entered the NBA.After a near tragic accident as a baby, David would be considered a miracle. Doctors didn't give him good odds for living a normal life. David became a gifted student and even as an elementary student asked permission to stop playing basketball in order to focus on studies and wanted to focus more on baseball and football. It wasn't until his senior year did things begin to change for David. He was asked to play on the high school basketball team and was eventually requested to play for the Naval Academy in college. David was very intelligent. He grew so much his knees hurt. Not until he graduated from the Naval Academy and served two years on land (because he was too tall for the ships) was he recruited into the NBA. While David may have been kind to all he knew, there was something missing….. David worked hard at everything he did even the things he didn't feel he was good at. David even donated his money to do good in his community by paying for 25 kids to go to college. This encourages me to keep going and accomplish my hopes and dreams. It makes me want to do something big.I definitely recommend reading this book. You can learn a lot from it and it gives you good life lessons.

David Robinson: a Giant on and off the court!
I grew up in the days of the Basketball hero's. Michael Jordan ruled (before he retired the FIRST time), Scotty Pippen was his protege; Larry Byrd flew; Magic Johnson was only known for Basketball; But growing up there was one player who I enjoyed to watch more then most, David 'The Admiral' Robinson. David Robinson was the 'perfect sport', a great player, a team player and a Christian.I can remember reading articles on him in Sports Illustrated, or Sport's spectrum (The Christian version of SI). When it came to his Integrity there was no one who compared except maybe Billy Graham. I remember reading of his stance on abstinence and other items. So when I saw this book for young boys, I knew I had to pick it up and review it and hand it to my son. Here is what the publisher had to say:Disciplined Life, Determined Athlete, Devoted Christian Kids will be inspired by the compelling story of David 'The Admiral' Robinson, who went from the Navy to the NBA, becoming MVP center for the San Antonio Spurs. When David Robinson became MVP center for the San Antonio Spurs, he seemed to have it all---fame, success, wealth, and a wonderful family---but he didn't feel complete until he found his faith. This is the true story of one man's disciplined life, how he excelled in academics and sports, and who isn't afraid to share his utter devotion to God.So final thoughts: David Robinson is one of the Best players the NBA has ever seen; yet off the court his legacy is even greater! This book will help introduce young boys to this giant of a man.You will not be disappointed. Thanks to the publisher for sending this Ebook to me for free to review. This review is my true review and not 'driven' by the publisher.
