Ice, ice baby
I have been wanted one of these for years! Our house doesn't have a water hook up to the fridge so instead of having it put in, I decided to order this guy! In my research I learned that all the ice makers are made by the same manufacture and there are only slight differences in all the models. This one had good ratings so I ordered it for myself for my birthday!I was very excited waiting for it to come. When it arrived, I followed the directions; I let it sit for an hour and then started making ice. Or so I thought. Long story short, mine wasn't working properly. I chatted online with very helpful people at Amazon and there was nothing i could do on my end, so they sent me a new one. The return was very easy (even during COVID).The new one arrived and wow, I didn't realize how much the other one didn't do. This one is PERFECT! It does just what it says. I had never seen one, so it was slightly bigger than I thought. I was expecting maybe coffee maker or toaster size, but it is a bit bigger. (Obviously I never looked at that during my research). Honestly, the size would only be a factor if: you have very limited space and can't lift 25 pounds if you have to move it.I like a lot of ice. I fill my cup up with ice and hope there is room for liquid. :) We have been buying ice for years due the volume I use, and it is nice to finally make my own. My husband and I have two older teenage children so with all of us home, we do use a lot. I leave it out for a couple of days, make ice, move it off the counter until it is time to pull it out again.I like the large ice, it looks like a bullet. They come out every 7-9 minutes it seems. There is a little tray they move into when done and it holds a couple/few hours of ice. It has lights on the top that let you know if more water is needed or if you need to empty the tray. At night if you are walking through the kitchen it is easy to notice if there is an error but its not an annoying light. The machine is not quiet but I don't think it is particularly loud until the ice falls. You can hear it from the other room, but instead of being annoyed, I seem to think "oh yes, more ice". Not enough to bother anyone I don't think. If you are thinking of getting one, I recommend this one. I really love the red color too!

Very good, but
We did enjoy it and used it every day, but, it was purchased in July 2023, here is September 2023 and it's not making ice. Turned it off and gave it 24 hours and I noticed the water was not falling into the water bucket but it was running back into the reservoir.Update: Amazon gave the 30-day return which ended in August and lucky me it went kaput in September( 2 months after purchase). Spoke to Amazon Rep (Natasha, a very nice young lady from South Africa), and for the $23.15 restocking fee charge we will return it to Amazon. I did not see the benefit of dealing with the manufacturer. In place we found the Silonn Ice Maker Countertop for $87.99 (probably because it is plastic) It does have a place to put the scoop and the ice bucket has a handle and it is smaller. The same amount of ice cubes, in one minute less, and the same amount of pounds per day. The Igloo does not have the bucket and scoop features and it costs us $123 sale price and it is big. We did enjoy having the ice available without it crowding the freezer. So, we do hope this one works out to be better in the long run.

It's compact but a workhorse.
We had room for only a unit this size, but it's adorable, and more than productive: as much ice per hour as larger, heavier, non-portable models.

Makes ice great, but the overflow sensors are finicky.
Have had this for few years, and while it works great in my print shop (can’t really hear the noise over my own machines, nor any heat put out by the unit in our working space,) the overflow sensors either work great or none at all. Sometimes one minor bit of ice cube will be juuuuust in the sensor’s eye, and it’ll retard any icemaking until you clear the gap. But sometimes it doesn’t seem to work at all, and then the ice starts to buildup and accumulate behind the icemaking molds and the breakable plastic scooping mechanism.Otherwise, works all day long. Easy to drain & clean. I appreciate a little 1/2” filter that siphons out the little particulates in the water reservoir, before the ice is made. Little heavy.

Worked...Until it didn't
Worked great when I first got it. Only would run for an hour or so every other day to supplement our ice supply during the summer months. Stopped working (it was running but not producing any ice). Tried to connect with the Igloo website to see about a repair as it should still be under warranty. Filled out their form and submitted but heard nothing back. I see where it looks like they redid their website, but when I try to search the model, it doesn't appear. Would suggest if anyone buys this bargain to either plan on it working for a short period of time, or to spend the 18 bucks for the warranty (I wish I did it, although for something like this I shouldn't have to). Otherwise, spend a bit more on another machine.Update- I received the following from Igloo Curtis:We understand how important this is to you. Please be advised that the unit’s model number and serial number are not found in our product database. From the information you have provided, your unit is not manufactured by Curtis, hence, we won't be able to provide any warranty support. We highly suggest contacting the store for any additional support. For Local Repair Shop – You may contact a local trusted repair facility to explore out-of-warranty repairs. You could use your local yellow pages or search via the internet for a local service facility.Thank you for understanding.Regards,Kenny WilliamsCustomer SupportCurtis International Ltd.
