Restores the wood structural integrity
The compound is easy to use after thoroughly mixing the two components in a 1:1 ratio. It's a bit tricky to get the ratio right due to the different consistencies, but it has a decent margin of error. Use nitrile or latex gloves when mixing and applying the compound. It remains pliable for only a limited time; don't mix more than you can use within 10 minutes. It adheres strongly to the wood. I applied it to Abatron LiquidWood-treated wood. After it solidifies, it can be sanded and painted. You can mix these products to create a softer, cream-like putty. Overall, it is an excellent product for restoring the structural integrity of damaged wood. Excellent product.

Best filler I've used.
I have used all sorts of materials for filling and patching rotted or damaged wood. This stuff is the best I have used. It is easy to mix, doesn't kill half my brain cells from heavy fumes and finishes off nicely with sanding and paint. My initial impression when I first handled it was that it was too light and fluffy to make substantial repairs. It also seemed like it couldn't possibly bond to the wood very well. Once dried though it was solidly bonded and hard but sandable. Once painted you wouldn't know there is a repair.Adding the two part LiquidWood to the project makes it even better. You can use that to consolidate spongy wood and increase the ability for the filler to bond. Add a tiny bit of the liquid to the filler to thin it for a more spreadable consistency.Overall this is a great system for wood repair.

Best Wood Filler Ever.
Abatron wood filler is a 2 part mix that has the consistency of clay so it does not run, and has a 30 min working time so rushing to finish is not required. Occasionally find a spot of wood rot on my house; just scrape or pick away the soggy wood, let it dry, paint the exposed wood with a wood harder which does exactly that. Then replace the removed wood with the Abatron wood putty. Can be smoothed with a putty knife and Isopropyl Alcohol to avoid any resistance. And also for cleanup. Wait 24 hours, scuff a little with sandpaper, and paint. Will look Great, and saves a ton of money and time. Before Abatron, I used a product typically used for repairing dents in cars which rhymes with Mondo. This product worked pretty well, but sets up pretty fast so found myself making several small batches to work with before hardening; so is more messy, and added more time to complete repairs. Abatron Wood Filler is the GOAT for me at this point.

An excellent wood replacement compound!
Several years ago, I looked for a reliable wood replacement compound for various DIY projects. My main requirements were durability and resistance to cracking, as previous products I had used did not meet my expectations. After reading about this product in a news article, I decided to try it. Most lumber yards didn't carry it, but I eventually found one that did. Unfortunately, they only sold it in large canisters, which were quite expensive. Fortunately, the compound has proven to be an excellent choice. I have used it extensively for both indoor and outdoor DIY projects, and it has consistently delivered satisfactory results without any failures. After many years of use, I emptied the containers. I was pleased that the two containers I ordered from Amazon were smaller and more affordable. To prevent the expensive ingredients in the containers from drying out, remember that air is your enemy. Here are a few recommendations:1. Take what you need from each container and IMMEDIATELY place the lids back on the two containers.2. I always try to burp out as much air as I can before a final seal of the lid.3. Ensure that the lids are tightly in place. I gently thump them with my rubber mallet. With a minimal amount of effort, you can significantly increase the shelf life of this product.Remember that this wood epoxy requires mixing equal amounts of resin from one container and hardener from another. It’s easy to accidentally take too much, which could result in discarded material and wasted money.Follow the manufacturer's safety and usage directions carefully. The two compounds must be kneaded thoroughly. After it hardens, I gently sand and paint over it.

Excellent product!
This is a great product. It is worth the price! I have used it several times. The most recent was to repair a support beam on my 1876 house. The photo shows the product before it was sanded. This was after applying. I love the fact that it can be shaped and molded. I should have added that I already had the liquid that is needed (from the Abatron kit), that is required to harden the wood prior to filling with this material. I have updated with a photo after sanding and painting. Not perfect, but a great improvement!
