This may have been the best Christmas gift we purchased! My son has always loved building with legos or other instructional toys. The Jimu Robot showed my son that the building part was just the beginning! The interactive instructions on the app were incredible! He could twist and turn the digital images to know exactly what piece to use and how to put it together. The coding instructions were so helpful and also educational. You can do the coolest things with this toy! My son has pulled this robot out everyday to try new tricks. I love that he is having so much fun and learning at the same time. The Jimu Robot is money well spent!!!

We bought this JIMU robot for my 8 yr. old son. He was super excited to see a robot that he can build himself. He with his dad really enjoyed building it out using their iPad instead of a paper manual. It is so much fun because you can see the simulation on screen and touch and rotate the images while building robot at each step. So it is easy to visualize and also drag and drop makes it easier for kids to program it. At the same time it teaches the basic concepts of programming and coding and how robots work etc. The JIMU robots are very cool and innovative toys which helps to develop kids' imagination and interest in coding. And all this while using their favorite tool i.e. iPad or phone.

My 9 year old daughter told me that she wanted to build a robot. Being a tech-savvy dad, I jumped at the chance, but I didn't want to overwhelm her. This little guy is perfect! It was fun to build, it has basic controls programmed right out of the box, and is programmable for when your young roboticist is ready to move to the next level. Great little liearning kit for kids.

Purchased 12/2025. As of 1/2026, the Jimu app does not exist in the Play Store or App Store which means no access to the build instructions. Returning.

This is a bit advanced for kids under 10 years. Also the iPad I had would not work with the builder or controller software. It did work with a Kindle Fire 7 HD after I installed stock android software. If your Apple or android device is not compatible be prepared to buy a new device or return the set.

I bought this as a gift for my 6 year old nephew. He absolutely LOVED it! It’s a joy to see the excitement and happiness on his face when he opened the box and saw the product. I especially love that it syncs seamlessly with his iPad and he is taught to build the robot step-by-step. It was easy enough for him to follow along with the instructions. When he needed help, his parents who are not tech-savvy, were able to help him. As an aunt, it’s reassuring to see him play with something that is helping his brain develop and grow in a positive way and not just mindlessly staring at the screen. I would recommend this as a gift for all young kids.

This was a fun project for my 9 y.o. and me. It took about 90 minutes total to assemble. My son is still learning the coding thing, but he already has ideas of how to modify the robot, or simply add functionality. I think we can actually do that, but not totally sure. Will update when I find out.

My kid loves Legos so I thought this would be something he would find interesting and enjoyable. It was really fun building the robot with him! I wanted something slightly more challenging than LEGO’s and this is it. Really rewarding once its built and you can control it with the iPad. Love it!!
