Kermit the Hermit

Bought Kermit the Hermit USED. Arrived in normal wear & tear which didn’t hinder our personal use to read. Bill Peet is such a fun and fulfilling author. This story is a pure example of a living book and my PreK & K children enjoy listening to it being read and often attempt reading it on their own. Definitely recommend all Bill Peet books.

Ok, stop clicking around. Seriously. Just go ahead and buy this and another 10 or so Bill Peet books. You won't be disappointed. I give these all of the time to friends as a baby present. Yeah they look at me a bit strange but then like 4 years later they call and say that they read Kermit the Hermit _every_ night. No really, it's a good thing.So many kids books either have too few words on a page or not enough to look at. For my wife and I, reading a book every night to our son was an event that was to be looked forward to and shouldn't be rushed. Every page in this book and all of Bill Peet's that I've read have incredible detail and are fun for kids and adults to read and look at. The stories also are just wonderful with a great messages of sharing, helping, being friendly to others, etc..

Bill Peat has written some of the very best children’s books ever written…most are written in rhyme so children enjoy them right away! My children enjoyed them immensely and I purchase them as gifts …I highly recommend them…especially “Kermit The Hermit” which is my favorite!

Kermit the Hermit is a very good book about a crab that changes from being greedy to a kindhearted, giving crab. This is a book with good pictures that really tell a lot of feeling and personality in the story. The characters are likable. They are trying to figure out how to do a good deed for a boy that saved Kermit's life. With crabs, pelicans, treasure, a shark, big fish, and even a sunken pirate ship, Kermit the Hermit is a fun and creative book by Bill Peet.

Bill Peet is one of my favorite kids book authors. I read these as a kid, got them for my kids, nieces and nephews and have put away a set for for my grandchildren someday. The stories and characters are always well designed and draw kids in. The illustrations are bright and colorful while still being somewhat simplistic giving them a lovable cartoon appearance. The stories have great moral and life lessons told in a fun way. These stories have stood the test of time and have been loved by many in my family

Bill Peet hits the nail on the head with this and all of his books. Teaching about generosity and compassion and willingness to work for a goal, in the end, makes this book one of my favorites.

We bought this book for our grandsons (5 & 3) for Christmas & had the opportunity to read it to them only once before they left to go home. However, our daughter tells us it is one of their favorite books now. It is an intelligent story with a moral that young children can understand & appreciate. Bill Peet chose his words carefully, so that it reads well out loud with some rhyming. His pictures are also beautiful. It may be a bit long for the youngest child, but not for those who love a good story read to them.

My children absolutely enjoyed every page of this book but I loved it too! If your child is working on rhyming this is a lovely book and I highly recommend! We just discovered this author and will be buying more books. Will be reading this over and over again.

Many years ago my daughter took Kermit the hermit out from our local library, she loved it so much that she hid it and it was discovered when we moved house. I went on to have 3 more children who also loved the story about Kermit and he became a firm family favourite. It is a kind story, it has everything really, in a gentle way there is adventure, suspense and a happy ending all written in a lovely rhythmic rhyme. It is very good to read aloud, especially at bedtime.I was so happy to find this for my granddaughter who loves it as much as her mother did. I have since tracked down some more Bill Peet books they are all wonderful with his fabulous illustrations and text.

Very funny and beautifully illustrated. We grew up with Kermit and Herbert's Hair Raising Adventure - both stand the test of time.

I m so happy I found Bill Peet books. The story, the pictures are just amazing. I am about to buy every single of his books. Brilliant!
