MTD Genuine Parts 21" Mulching Blade - For Mowers 1995 and after

You never know what you are going to get now days but this mower blade seemed to be of good quality and the exact same as the original blade. .... I just realized this won't help anyone select this blade if they don't know what machine I have or the seller. Ordered the "MTD Genuine parts 21" mulching blade for mowers 1995 and after" from the seller HEARTHSHIRE. I did not know the model number for my MTD black 21" cutting width side discharge MTD mower because the plate with the model number was missing and all my manual said was "Push mower - model series A00, A10, A20, B00, B10 and B20. The blade fits perfectly and is of good quality. Thank you Hearthshire.

After a lot of searching I finally found a blade whose picture matched the mounting hole configuration of my MTD Yard Machine mower blade. It's tough to describe, but has a roughly rectangular shape with six outward arcs (1 in each corner and 1 longer arc on each long side).The blade I received had a mounting hole that was a simple rectangle with straight sides. I contacted the seller, Mowtown USA, to return the blade. They asked if I'd tried the blade, telling me that it would still fit, but they did send me the return shipping label if I still wanted to return it. I did try the blade and it does fit so I will be keeping it.If I had any complaint it would be that, if I'd known the straight rectangular mounting hole would fit I could have gotten the blade cheaper elsewhere, as I found there were MANY blades with that hole available. But then, if I hadn't gone through this process I would not have known that.In any event, the blade appears to be of decent quality and Mowtown USA was very responsive to my concerns. Hope this helps make this less confusing for others.PS. Regarding the sharpness and condition of the blade: mine has no chipped paint and is in "new" condition. The blade is as sharp as any blade I've purchased previously, that is... I've never considered ANY of the blades I've purchased to be very sharp and always sharpen them myself before using them. They'd all probably cut fine without my initial sharpening, however, as a mower blade doesn't need to be sharp like a knife.

Great priced blade. But it comes extremely dull. I didn't cut the grass well... I ended up taking it in and getting it sharpened after doing only part of my front yard. However, the price is barely more than the cost of sharpening, so it's still a good deal.

This new factory sealed 21" blade I purchased for my 10-year-old MTD "Yard-Man" lawn mower is an exact duplicate of the original blade, curves and all. This time of year the grass isn't growing very fast, so I opted for free (slow) shipping. To my surprise it arrived by mail 5 days earlier than expected.Replacing the old blade was just a matter of removing three bolts. I assumed after 10 years being outdoors they would be rusted and would take some Herculean effort to loosen. Not so. With the right size sockets, removing them did take some muscle power but not so much as to work up a sweat.

They do not make this Briggs and Stratton mower with an MED any more. The mower is only three years old. I would have had more trouble ordering the part to be sent to Lowes since it was not on the shelf. I had looked up the OEM part or Original equipment number in the owner's manual and searched Amazon for it. It was exactly what I needed and I was worried about the butterfly attachment in the center of the blade.

THIS NEW BLADE HAS MADE MY LAWN MOWER'S ENGINE WORK MUCH EASIER. THIS PURCHASE ALLOWS ME TO NOT HAVE TO SHARPEN THE BLADE UNTIL NEXT YEAR UNLESS I HIT ANOTHER TREE STUMP.

After receiving this product, which had chipped paint, I noticed something worse than the lack the proper mounting hole pattern (look carefully at the picture, it shows an OEM blade, not THIS blade, which only has a square hole). So what's worse than a blade that isn't even what's pictured? One that is completely dull. For the $16 shipped cost, I would still have had to go get it sharpened for another $15. Instead I spent $19 at Sears (yes, I had to go into the store) and get a real OEM blade. Which, BTW, is sharp AND has the proper mounting pattern.Seriously, if you're trying to save a buck, just take your blade off after your next mowing and go get it sharpened.

Arrived on time and fits properly. Will try in the yard Thursday.
